I couldn't find a dedicated sub-forum for tech questions, so I'm posting it here.
I notice that some people are able to attach images to their posts which remain viewable whether I'm logged in or not. In order to view my own images, I have to be logged in, otherwise only a file name appears.
I'd be most grateful if someone would take a moment to explain how to attach images so they appear all the time, whether the viewer is logged in or not.

If you embed your picture as a link to an external site, such as imgur.com, then it will be visible to those not logged in. If you upload your picture, then it wont be visible until you have signed in.

Nah, I'm still not getting it. I tried embedding a random photo from imgur.com, but it still just shows up as the printed URL.
It's tough not being tech savvy...

I upload an image to postimage.org. It will give you a direct link which you copy to the clipboard.
When you start typing your post, click on the little green icon as shown below. Paste the direct link in and you're ready to go.
