Fight against CO2 a ‘full-blown mystical delusion’

The battle against global warming has many effects, not the least of these is employment and our pocket book. Science doesn't exist in a vacuum.

Increasing regulations are a huge burden for businesses and consumers alike. But it also impacts employment. Anyone writing a paper on global warming and it's affects on the globe would benefit from this article as it addresses unemployment surging and quality of life suffering if we make attacking CO2 levels a priority in public policy.

I never like when science steps across the line in to politics and public policy, but it has and must be examined. This lays it out in terms of its impact on us humans that live on this planet.

I'm curious, what do you want public policy to be based on, if not science?

The argument on the topic in science is still raging.

People are taking sides, but I'm just not seeing the hammer come down on either side.

Granted, CO2 has been much higher in history before man was out of the Stone Age. I believe we go through these phases and ice cores bear that out.

That said, I also want clean air. Auto emissions are a big factor to air pollution which creates these heat islands. Texas has been taking that on successfully. Industry can cap their emissions and clean up our air which will make an enormous difference in air quality and human health. So, if we're talking clean air, clean water and oceans, I'm in your camp. If your talking it creating the melting of the Antarctic I'm going to have to step back and say the jury's out. It's so complex when you factor in the oceanic influence and solar influences, that I just don't think they have this thing by the throat yet.

Everyone to their own position on this. Ones as good as another right now.
