gosaints
People need to realize how rare it still is to get 10+ snowfall out of 1 system. If lucky I would say Chicago on average gets 1 storm (+10) every other year. It was from 3 seperate systems
FV-Mike
It was from 3 seperate systemsRight, I probably needed to clarify as I was making a more general statement about some models showing large snowfalls 160+ hours out on single systems. For the most part 60 hours out they have been way to robust
Geos
0.2" here. Models were way off for most of us. The last system before the warm up. Subtract from this map. NAM Subtract from today's snow. Geos
I wasnt too far off. Lol Main band ended up being through Shakjen's area over to Pontiac. 3-4" being reported down there. Looks like southern DuPage was in the 1-1.5" zone. midwest buildit
I am about here. Probably about an inch or so on the grassy areas. Pavement was patchy with little snow in some areas.
Geos
Hopefully this system will deliver something close to 2". I would be at about average snowfall for the season then. Then we can go ahead and warm up. jaster220
1.2" and a nice refresher with yesterday's clipper. Was a beautiful snow but the roadways got treacherous as the sun went down - saw multiple slide offs and even a roll-over that was bad. 12*F and "fog" hugging the 8-10" snow pack made it look and feel like mid-January this morning! Too bad it's arrival was so tardy. I've had 18.4" in the last (9) days at my place, and over 22" where I'm working in Lansing so the tail end of this winter has been a throw-back to the cold-n-snowiness of the past two seasons! Hoping to hit the slopes Sunday before the big thaw sets in. May be my last chance unless I can get up to NMI later in the month. 1 Quote Winter 2023-24 Snow Total = 52.8" (89% Normal Season) Largest Storm: 12" (1/12-13) Oct: 0.1 Nov: 2.9 Dec: 7.5 Jan: 31.7 Feb: 6.0 Mar: 4.1 Apr: 0.0 Avg = 59.2" (Harrison): 2023-24 = xx.x" Avg = 45.0" (KDTW): 2022-23 = 33.5" 2021-22 = 35.6" Avg = 49.7" (KRMY): 2020-21 = 36.2" 2019-20 = 48.0" 2018-19 = 56.1" 2017-18 = 68.3" 2016-17 = 52" 2015-16 = 57.4" 2014-15 = 55.3" 2013-14 = 100.6" (coldest & snowiest in the modern record!) 2012-13 = 47.2" 2011-12 = 43.7" Legit Blizzards (high winds and dbl digit snows): Feb 2011, Dec 2009, Jan 2005, Dec 2000, Jan 1999, Mar 1998, Nov 1989, Jan 1982, Jan 1978, Jan 1977, Apr 1975, Mar 1973, Jan 1967, Feb 1965, Jan 1918
