This storm looks amazing on radar, classic neg tilt system with a slug of moisture coming from the Gulf with thunderstorms pouring into the cold sector.

im just wondering where all this water is going, probably an inch or more of rain here so far. But the retention areas next to my house are still just white snow...weird. and its common to see some water in there after any heavy rain.

Up to 37° here with fog so dense I can only see about 300 feet. Snow pack is now between 3-9" in general across the yard. 1.1" of rain today.

 

Retention ponds here are filling up. A lot of visible pooling on the snow pack in farm fields too. The difference up here was the snow depth was a bit shallower.

Just hitting 40º here now. 1.13" rain today, along with the 1.5" slush/snow/etc I didn't get an equivalent on.

Still no rain report here, but I'd guess around .75" if I had to, but I can't say for sure. Up to 37. Roads are soaked.

Okay... I was just a little off, lol. Too hard to predict how much rain has fallen, knew I guessed a little too high.

 

.58" of rain in Dubuque. Man, that would be crazy to see what it looks like with rainfall amounts of 1" or more..

Snow is melting quickly now. Lost an inch since I came home.

Winds really howling over here. Was just out in the country and it's nasty out there! Very windy, hard to walk. Back to my house so it's not as bad. But you can hear the wind in the trees.

Up to 49F!  Winds have shifted out of the SW and this warm tongue is making its way through the area.  Probably last about an hour or so more.  Snow pack definitely taking a beating now with the higher dew points and temps.  Shouldn't last too much longer though.  I'd say I also lost about an inch since last measurement.

Rising about a degree every 10 minutes here now. Will probably end up with under 6" of snow in my yard in general by early in the morning.

Cold front is knocking on the door...winds have really picked up and are gusting pretty high.  You can hear the trees roar when the gusts come through.

yea. wind picking up. still lots of snow around here. i think the snow soaked up all the rain, cause most of the water retention areas are empty or very little.

^ Midwest, our snow pack def soaked up a lot of the rain.  It acted like a sponge since the bottom 12" or so has compacted so much for such a long time.  I'm guessing I'll end up with 7-8" of snow left by tomorrow morning.  Not bad since we received over 1" of rainfall area wide.

After a quick temp drop to 33 here earlier, actually up to 34 currently. Should help with the roads not freezing over as bad when it does go below freezing.

37 mph winds with gusts to 45. That's nuts.
