wx_statman
85 degrees in Coquille on February 9th of this year. This appears to have tied the highest reliably measured February temperature in Oregon, also 85 degrees at Coquille on 2/26/1992. Medford hit 79 on the 8th, which also tied the monthly record from February 25th & 26th in 1992. Even more remarkably, Tillamook hit 78 degrees on the 9th. This was higher than any previous temperature at TMK in either February or March with records back to 1948. The previous monthly record was 73 on 2/28/1968; the record for March is also 73 set in multiple years.
bainbridgekid
For such a transition month, having a monthly record be as early as the 9th is pretty remarkable. James Jones
For such a transition month, having a monthly record be as early as the 9th is pretty remarkable.Yeah, that seems pretty incredible to me too, but it was a ridiculously warm airmass. Similar things have happened at other locations in transition months, like PDX's March record high of 80 coming on the 16th, or recently SEA's April record high of 89 being set on the 18th this year. We saw something similar in the early April airmass as well. For example, the 88 at Clatskanie was a monthly record despite occurring on the 8th. That's a rare accomplishment anywhere. Seems like the OR coast has had quite a run of impressive warm extremes the past few years. Quote A forum for the end of the world.

Front Ranger
It hasn't just been confined to the coast. Sure, but I'm not talking about the continuous very warm anomalies. I'm talking about the extreme events. Seems like the coast has outperformed other areas - but I could be wrong. Quote A forum for the end of the world.
