You nailed it. Just surfaced at 9:05 at the ASOS sensor, from the ESE. Came around from the NNE to ENE yesterday.

 

Might have a more difficult time hitting 70 since the basin has cooled from yesterday.

Should be close. I bet they just kiss it. Five minutes of glory.

There was a trace in downtown on 10/30 and 10/31/1935. Jackson Park also measured 0.8" in 1984 on the northern edge of the city at 370'.

There might have been some duplication at Jackson Park in Oct 1984. WRCC shows 0.4” on the 31st but also 0.4” on the 29th. I don’t think any snow fell on the 29th, so it was probably a data entry error. I’d check the original coop form but I’m on my phone.

Yeah, pretty sure you're right. The cold airmass was Halloween.
