You don’t want to know...

What huge miss after huge miss in December even though Xmas eve down here was a great treat, it just ended too fast. 2 weeks out into February look alright though from a historical perspective. I can't remember who keeps saying it but this winter seems like it must score something great before it's over. Valentine's Day snowstorm anyone?

Wimps!   It takes -50 windchill to cancel school in MN.

Its going to be a balmy 25 there tomorrow.   :)

Wait, seriously? Lol Oklahoma.

Even us swamp people keep things open until windchills drop below -15*F.

SEA is like +3.5 now and PDX is like +4. I highly doubt January finishes below average, at this point.

(OT) Yet another Gulf Coast Snowfall this week. This is getting kinda ridiculous...already the 4th Gulf Coast event of the winter so far.

I also think this will be the 2nd one to affect in Houston. The only other years to pull this off since records began there in 1895 are 1925/26, 1972/73, and 1984/85.

Wow.

Wow.

It's amazing the cold air has been able to dig that far south this winter. It looks like Charleston will just miss and be on the edge of another snowstorm this week.

Will not matter that the month ends up above normal if we get a memorable 5-day period of cold and snow.

And getting back down to normal is no great accomplishment if it only comes via an extended period of 40-degree rain.    Talk about an empty victory given the potential this winter.

What’s the average high/low up there now? Like 45/35?

And wouldn’t 40 degree onshore flow keep lows elevated? Or is that not how it works out there?

Basically no chance as it stands on the models now.

In which case, expect a Flatiron-free February.

You quoted my original garbled post.   You are too fast.

Normal right now at SEA is 47/37.

Let’s see how long this actually lasts. Keeps getting trimmed on the backend as the MJO approaches the warm pool.

Schools literally NEVER close here. -50 windchills nor two foot snowstorms.

And then a high of 61 on Saturday! While snow again falls to their south, I talked to my ex-wife and she said they have had no snow yet this winter at their house north of Tulsa near Bartlesville.

Out of curiosity, what’s Bozeman’s heaviest recorded snowfall?

I believe 27" in November 12th-13th of 2009. And you guessed it, schools stayed open.

That is quite cold, especially for the little kiddos who are not adapted and or clothing ready to handle it.

The cockiness is a little hard to understand considering you were the one who predicted a three week arctic blast for us this month, and said you would literally bet hundreds of dollars on it happening.

A forecast for a month that is merely below average is pretty tame in comparison.
