Big fire in Norcal. Not good news. I'm in Scottsdale for our company's annual conference. At least there were some flat cumulus clouds this afternoon.

A bit breezy tonight in Scottsdale. Desert winds usually pick up after sunset.

I hear there's Santa Anas back there. Hope not to fly back seeing towers of smoke tomorrow.

Seems like we both picked a good time to be out of California.

Cool.

Another round of Santa Ana winds ushering in another week of very warm, dry weather doesn't bode well for fire danger, but models have been consistently showing the possibility of rain in the 10-15 day period.  Fingers crossed.

Most of the country is frigid, while we have our usual Santa Ana winds and fires.
Even Brownsville, TX is in the low 60s, and they are about as far south as Miami.

Days are warm, but night comes early, so I need to take walks during lunch to enjoy it.

Sunset today is slightly earlier than Christmas. Next week sunsets become earlier than Winter Solstice.

Maybe some rain next week, but for now it's just pathetically early sunsets and occasional periods of thick high clouds.

The sunset has been the same at this time of year all your life. Still beautiful down there. :)

Long term that is 100% correct.

I believe that I read somewhere that rain can be a beneficial remedy in the short term, though.

I've seen two different lists of missing persons from the fires.

Richard Mann is listed #324 on this one:

Has anybody heard from him?

I had rather hoped that his "messages" would display some evidence of the syntactical eccentricities for which he is renowned.

Hope he continues to be OK.

So has rain in the PNW. And it is much less damaging. Yet you seem to have a lot of trouble rolling with that one. Kind of hypocritical telling us all to learn to accept devastating wildfire when you can’t even handle water falling out of the sky. :)

I thought that was Justin.

Regardless, hopefully you have gotten this out of your system and we can all move on to weather. :)

Looks like parts of north/central CA could have the first trackable weather in quite some time soon.
