No way. Kelly is at least entertaining. Pool is a human opioid

Nice! How closely? He's the main reason I watch KGW over the other 3.  Him and Zaffno.  Rod Hill has done 3 of the 4 right? KPTV, KATU, and KGW?

Very distant, but I guess he has relatives with the same last name as I have. It is a very uncommon name in the US. So pretty much anyone who has it is related somehow. He messaged me on facebook about it...

I have a hyphenated last name and generally go by "Johnson" which is part of it. But I used to have my full last name on my Facebook profile.

Yep...that’s right! I did my pre snow mow today! Currently 35 degrees.

Oh god now you've jinxed it

Also, I've not told anyone close to me about the upcoming winter weather potential. Hopefully no one else has.

I was planning on telling people starting tomorrow if it still looks good.

I organized a conference call for everyone at our company today to announce the upcoming severe cold and heavy snow.

I also had my sons announce it over the intercom at school today.    We should be golden now!

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning and this includes metro Vancouver

You can see why on the 925mb temp map for tomorrow morning...

It also shows snow from Vancouver to Portland by 10PM Sunday.

These maps are the definition of fake news.   I know they look nice but they are always grossly overstated.

Much colder at the 850mb level as well. Just an all-around better run in every facet for Sunday vs. the 18z.

Its all about speed when comparing the 00Z run to the previous two runs.   Its not that much colder overall... its faster.

Doesn’t look much different than the Euro though which showed 1-3 inches in king county.

I hate the grid like numbers... and we know in general that those maps often show snow and nothing actually happens.

It's faster and colder. Look at hour 144 and compare to 18z... No speed factored in there, it's just plain colder.

I usually compare the 00Z to the 12Z and the 12Z to the previous night's 00Z run.     Its about the same as the 12Z run.

Slightly warmer at hour 162, but still chilly and set up well for reload.

The 500mb trough is shifted well east of the 12Z and 18Z runs even by Monday... and even more on Tuesday

Through 180 definitely not the best run. But its okay guys we'll live

While in general the snow maps overdo it that's more in relation to marginal events.

850s are solid, surface temps after 10AM (at the latest) are solid, thicknesses are solid... Not really any marginal aspect here.

If the 00z GFS temperature numbers were to verify as modeled, I could imagine the snow map reflecting an accurate snowfall for Sunday in this instance.

There definitely will be lowland snow on Sunday... but that map is usually a joke so its become sort of meaningless to us.

The ICON puts a low into SW Oregon at hour 180. Would be big time snow on the north side of that feature...

Are you having a drink tonight?   You seem more relaxed.   Not the panicky Andrew who throws out the GFS when its at 48 hours.
