I measured 0.25" here about 20 minutes ago. We're in a brief hole here. Light rate with small dendrites. I expect that to change soon.

Liking where I sit just along I-80 in C.IA. HRRR is still S but the RAP is trending N. Love the radar trends.

Just like sleeping in a tent during a TS, nothing beats hot tenting in a snow event!!!

Dare I say I like where I sit with this? Being on the northern end of the heavy band ended up being the best spot to be for last night's snow, and radar seems to already be exhibiting an ENE motion to it. My guess for the heaviest band is going to be between CR/IC, sort of by bud's location. AFDs(particularly LOT) seems overly skeptical of guidance so I'm gonna go by radar and mesoananalysis more than normal. Not sure if I said it earlier, but I'm currently thinking 1.5-2" here, but I would be happy to end up conservative, only thing checking me is guidance.

I'm mildly afraid of this thing sagging TOO far South. Looks like this thing is progressing pretty far South. I'd love to see the returns over Kearney right now.

OAX gave the NAM way too much credit in their forecast. It has held back the most this entire time and it has already been proven wrong.

I don't know, the way that thing moved so fast was discouraging. Should at least see lighter snow until 3 AM or a bit later. The temperature near 10 is working to our benefit

No, seriously.

"Intermittent snow flurries have begun to enter the area. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 6 a.m. Saturday. Two to four inches of snow are expected. Twenty City crews are patrolling emergency snow routes, arterial streets, school and bus routes, treating roads with granular salt pre-wet with liquid brine. Crews will continue patrolling and reassessing streets as the winter weather moves into the area. Additional crews are on standby."

“They’ll do anything not to plow”

From the statement you posted

“Twenty city crews are patrolling emergency snow routes, arterial streets and treating roads with granular salt pre-wet with liquid brine.”

I’m all for bashing inadequate govt situations but it seems like they are out plowing etc

They said nothing about plowing on there. They always brine streets. Even for freezing fog. They're stingy about plows for whatever reason.

Omaha isn’t that bad. Everyone bashes them but they do an overall good job
