Up to 1.64” of rain for this event here at my house. The temperature here has been stuck at 57° now for since 11 pm Last night. So far have not had any thunder here.  Much of the snow is now gone.  There are still a lot of snow piles left however.  Have not gone over into the woods to see if there is still a snow cover there yet.

The thick layer of sleet actually made roads a lot better this morning than they were yesterday morning with just the freezing rain.

Safe to say the GFS was way off with qpf for Eastern Iowa.  The Euro was much better.

I finished with 1.12" of rain over the two days.  The euro had 2" of rain here for days, which was too high.  Others were too low.  The GFS struggled with the precip behind the front.

We got no icing at all.  The temp did not fall below freezing until the rain moved out.

lovely out there today!

Just like my back yard too!  The snow was lovely while it lasted.

Over 1.5" so far in the NW MKE area.  Looks like at least a few more hours of at least moderate rain still to go.  Could close in on 2".

Rapid City (the NWS WFO) actually finished with 11.0"; one of the best totals.

They are a good snow station; with a mean of about 51" (the record is only 21 years long there); which is about 8" more than the Airport...which is 12 miles to the east and out on the plains of western South Dakota.  The airport is also at a lower altitude than the WFO.  The WFO is in downtown Rapid City...which is right on the eastern slopes of the Black Hills.

The airport; however, records much colder temperatures than the WFO...as it is out in a rural setting and is less subject to warm intrusions from west of the Black Hills.
