An open wave is poised to track across the central Plains into the MW and W GL's region bringing a mixed bag of precip.  Some snow will fall across portions of NE/IA/MN and into WI as well as some more ice/mix potential.

Let's discuss...

NAM trending a bit further NW than I’d like. MPX going with 1-3” here for now.

Can't take on much more ice down here in KC.  That would cause widespread damage with the ice we got today.

On my end it's showing a 5.5" bullseye over Lincoln. with 10:1 ratios. Kuckera is 8" but Kuchera isn't gonna work with this considering upper air is warm.

GFS looks like garbage for the weekend storm, so it might be time to cling to this marginal thing.

0z GFS ups totals here to around 5” Kuchera. Doesn’t have the NW trend that the NAM is hinting at.

I'm not putting too much weight on the GFS yet. It's been fairly warm biased here recently and that's showing with the snow totals.

OAX is riding the Euro for tomorrow's wave. I think we need to wait for afternoon to see an advisory as Fobert has never issued a headline. I know this is the wrong thread, but as always he has a Northeast Nebraska boner for Saturday's wave.

The NAM has been almost spot on for me down here, which has me worried because it shows nearly a half in of ice tonight and tomorrow.  Also it continues to trend cooler for Friday.  Hope you get some snow as the NAM suggest you will.

12z NAM keeps up upward trend in snow totals. Liking my spot for a few inches. Might be a enough to fire up the snow blower before the weekend event. Not that that’s a lock by any means.

Yes it is. I think they know better than to listen to the North American Moist- I mean Mesoscale model though.

Im in a WWA as well. Wast expecting that. Potential for 2" of snow and 2 tenths ice. That would be quite the mess.

Snow looks like it will start earlier than expected. Radar returns for South of us at the KS/NE state line right now. It's mostly virga atm, but the surface should saturate soon enough.

Also seeing light snow in my area, hoping to pick up an inch over night. Rather would see snow than the dreaded frozen precip......

Since I last posted about 50 minutes ago, an inch has fallen. Supposed to snow intermittently throughout the night, so I'm confident in us getting at least 2" by the time this first wave ends.

OAX referred to that band as "light snow." Lol. I couldn't see 200 feet away.

Down to pixie dust now. Should be more snow showers throughout the night. That's how I think we end up with 2" from this first wave. With the two waves combined, we could easily see 3".

I am sensing we have an “overperformer” on our hands tonight. Heavy snow with very low visibility in SW Omaha, and easily a 1/2 to 3/4” of snow down already in a half hour. Plenty more to come here as it looks on radar as well.

Do you have to make everything negative? A couple days ago this was supposed to be an ice/rain event. For God's sake dude.

Heavy snow being reported at the Millard Airport with 1/2 mile visibility. I am not far from there, and I have to believe the visibility is closer to a 1/4 mile to be quite honest... already looks like we are over one inch of accumulation here, grass is completely covered already!

Unmelted sleet from Tuesday made a good foundation on the grass here, didn't take much snow to cover the grass here due to that.
