March Weather in the Pacific Northwest

It certainly showed the main action and center of the cold anomalies sinking south into OR and CA.

That was the entire point of my post last week.   That is a nicer pattern for the Seattle area.

Perhaps. I live in Oregon where afternoon temps are generally 10-15 degrees below average right now.

And last week it was struggling into the 30s at my house and its much warmer now.

My post last week was specifically about the weather in the Seattle area for the period after we returned home from Hawaii.    And it actually worked out exactly as I was hoping... despite the many posts about the GFS going full board for another arctic blast late this week and tons of lowland snow on the way.  :)

The pattern has shifted to a ULL scenario in OR and CA... which is generally pretty nice for WA.   That is where I live.   The GFS was completely wrong with the second blast scenario.

Yet the Euro was way off for the Sunday night storm and the GFS nailed it for our area.

Well I do have to say it is entirely possible and greater than a 20% chance, esp if you consider that Europe is getting historic snow and even Rome is getting dumped on.

The pattern the GFS shower has actually verified pretty well. Very cold airmass overhead. Only Jim was dreaming big.

Garbage

You are just trolling now.

I will track your "major snow event" 10 days from now.    Then we can compare those same maps when that day arrives.   The EPS was crazy cold leading up to the second half of February... actually 2 weeks before it started.   I knew it was coming for that very reason.    It does not show anything like that now.

I thought trips to Hawaii were supposed to leave you more relaxed?

Actually very relaxed... weather is nice and looks generally improved going forward.   We picked a good 2 weeks to be gone and it was close to perfect in Hawaii.  :)

Work sucks right now but that always happens after returning from a long vacation.

You're throwing bible references in here. Impressive.

People spend endless hours searching for rain/damp and cold temps, others spend hours searching for a mixture of rain/warmth, and the rest dry/warmth. People are allowed to cherry pick their own preference, just stop getting mad at others when they want one preference over the other. ifred has had to tell you guys endlessly in the past, why do we need to un-ban or un-mod preview people and still have the same results happen? If warm anomalies trigger you, or cold anomalies trigger you, take a break from the forums, otherwise keep discussing instead of saying "Tim this" "Tim that" when you're also guilty of the same thing.

I agree :)

Yet you will still be constantly on this forum inside from the "nice weather" once it gets here. Sort of like your "vacations".

Hawaii can't be that relaxing when you're more concerned about weather 2500 miles away and you stare at a phone the whole time. Just sayin'

More relaxing than being here!   I am always looking forward regardless of my location.

And we are outside all the time when its nice.   We live outside for most of the summer.   Have you heard about smartphones?   All the rage now.   You don't have to be inside.     ;)

I didn't notice before, but this weeks snow has helped me pass 10' of snow since I've lived in Bend. I never had any snow where I lived the first 18 years of my life, then about 2.5' during my 6 years in Eugene, and now 10' in my 3 years in Bend.

This place definitely sucks, but it is too entertaining to turn away.

I wouldn't say this place sucks. There is a lot of valuable information here. Interesting weather discussion and a ton of knowledgeable people.

Did I mention that the 12Z ECMWF was a little warmer and drier in the 8-10 day period compared to previous runs and the GFS?

Oh wait... I typed one sentence about it because it looked nice to me.   Did not even post a map.   Sorry about that.

Nothing throws this place into a tizzy like me mentioning anything in the models that is even remotely warmer or drier.   So much power for no reason!

Washed the work van today and was enjoying the warm sun while doing so..and I will also enjoy it if I see snow the next few days!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

How many do you frequent?

Well I used to go on Fox 12 all the time but that place has become sort of a joke. The atmosphere is much more amateur. I still read and like Mark's blog posts for the most part, but I stay away from the comments section.

I used to go on AmericanWX more as well, but that place has always seemed sort of dry to me.

Then of course there are the facebook group spinoffs from Mark's blog which are an absolute circus from what I can tell. Makes this place look like a MENSA gathering.

I mainly frequent 3. This one probably has the most advanced knowledge overall, my favorite is drama free and regionally focused, and the other is from CA that is reliable for snow forecasts. The funny thing about that one is that it used to be attached to Mammoth Mountain's website, but they didn't want the drama attached to their site so they disconnected it and pretty much old members are the only ones able to find the URL because it's been changed several times.

Per the HRRR... the time to watch for snow in King County is between 2-6 a.m. tomorrow.     Perfect timing for that band to lift through if you are cheering for snow.

That post alone shows how screwed up you are.

Apparently Netflix and sleep is more fun than spending any time with you. And apparently they sleep and watch tv on vacation at least 18 hours a day. Way to go Tim. Such a family man.

Jeez. I definitely don't like most of his posts, but this is pretty brutal and unnecessary.
