wx_statman
I'm playing around on xmACIS2 (http://xmacis.rcc-acis.org/), which is a great resource for all sorts of weather stat crunching. Using the "multi-station extremes" feature, I sorted the top 5 values across all Oregon stations for several different monthly statistics. For each category, these are the 5 stations that hold the highest/lowest records across Oregon. So only one entry per station in each category (otherwise, we'd probably see Crater Lake make more than one appearance on the snowfall list). This is across all Oregon stations available in NOAA's ACIS database, including all periods of record both active and inactive. Enjoy! Jesse
This is awesome! I find it sort of funny that the lowest monthly mean was literally half a degree in Halfway.
wx_statman
This is awesome! I find it sort of funny that the lowest monthly mean was literally half a degree in Halfway. Poetic! I didn't even think about that.

Scott
I would have thought that Seneca would show up somewhere on the cold list, but it just missed each category.
wx_statman
I would have thought that Seneca would show up somewhere on the cold list, but it just missed each category. Seneca wasn't recording in Jan 1949. I have no doubt that it would pop up on the cold lists, had it been operational that month.
wx_statman
FWIW, here are the average minimums in January 1937, when Seneca was actually recording: -14.4 Austin-10.1 Seneca-9.6 Ukiah-8.8 Harney Branch ES I can see an average minimum around -13 to -14 in January 1949 there. Pure speculation of course.
