Bryan1117
Ended up getting up to 75 here in Omaha today despite it being cloudy most of the day, and wow did it feel great outside! This is the weather we have all been missing this last month... Old Man Winter needs to die a quick and painless death! Leaving for Florida tomorrow, so I am going to miss all the action this weekend... doesn’t really look like I will be missing much anyway here in Eastern Nebraska. I have seen 33 and rain, changing at the end to a wind driven light coating of snow too many times this Winter. Will be checking in here to follow what happens this weekend from the white sand beaches of the FL panhandle (and maybe dodging some strong thunderstorms there on Saturday night and Sunday).

Tom
JMA weeklies are in and they support the Euro Weeklies idea that the "cool should rule" for the most part, but as we get into May,I do believe, there is a window of warmth after the first 5 days or so of May where a taste of "sudden summer" appears. That is so far out that I'm not even putting much effort into figuring out when that may evolve. I'd like to fast forward April already and leap into May but that ain't happening...so, in the meantime, I'm all for the window of warmth induced by storm systems this week into next week (11th-18th). Here's what the JMA weeklies suggest...quiet wet and active, severe threat across the MW/Plains looks good...

OKwx2k4
Well, guess severe weather season is going to start right here tomorrow. Could be very destructive and very short warning times. No one chases here because of the hills and trees so I may go out and do some myself. I know a few really tall places to observe from. Given the wind situation, I'd say that spin and lift should be in overabundance.

OKwx2k4
Good luck and stay safe down there!Going to try buddy. I just know what follows cold and snow in the early spring here and it is usually pretty rough. It wouldn't be that bad but people and news stations (even with all the tech we have right at our fingertips) just simply don't care about this area they call "The Jungle". I know it's dangerous for them to be here when you can't see a mile but it's still the late 80s here in that regard. In the last 12 years, I know of at least 5 tornadoes that I, and many others that I've discussed weather with around my area, knew about for sure and yet the NWS never warned nor classified the damage afterwards. 2 of which were simply considered downbursts. It still disappoints me I guess. It will take a town getting wiped off the map for someone to care about this place.

Hawkeye
The NWS thinks the front will stall between Ottumwa and Iowa City. All the locals have drastically lowered our high temp tomorrow. Earlier in the week, at least one 70 degree high appeared likely, but it's not going to happen. It may be late in the month before we see the first 70. The airport did hit 69 at 5pm, so there is a chance they hit 70. Here in the city we maxed at 67.
