August 2018 Weather in the Pacific Northwest

Upper 50s and drizzle in Port Townsend this morning. Feels amazing. Glad I can join the drizzle club!

I see PDX has reported drizzle this morning as well, so it’s probably drizzling at our place down there too. Good news for the trees and dry vegetation, every little bit helps.

12z is ungodly hot next week.

Don't worry, it will probably crash into Tim-tastic 58 degree rain while I'm there over the weekend, though.

I am in the bargaining phase of grief over the cool down later next week.

Well the in-Laws are arriving from Arizona on Sunday and spending the week with us so they will feel right at home!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

I have always been a climate change skeptic, but after the last six years...It is pretty hard to argue with the facts.

Still in contract negotiations to go to Lubbock. I will probably be flying out there in a couple of weeks. Very torn, the way this summer has gone is probably part of the reason I am even considering it.

Feels like we should eventually get some payback for all of this, but I’ve been telling myself that story for about five years now.

We had a cold January in 2017!

Death Valley just had their warmest month on record. Mean max there was 120 and the mean minimum was 96.

The West Coast is basically Saudi Arabia now.

61 with dark skies and drizzle at almost noon in Seattle in the middle of summer.

Definitely similar to the Middle East!

It must be, relative to climo, since its warmest month on record coincided with many other locations on the west coast recording record or near record warm months.

Yep. This whole side of the country has been completely deep-fried. The perma-ridge is expanding and still flexing its nuts over us.

I really thought for a minute the west coast was becoming Saudi Arabia!

Shout out to Flatiron for keeping things real!

Justin was being silly obviously, and so was my mocking response to him.

Jesse made sure that I knew that relative to climo, it really HAS been like Saudi Arabia!

Dewey then chimed in, with more mockery of the mocking.

What comes next??

A forum for the end of the world.

Glad I don't live in that state!

All of Washington is categorized as at least "abnormally dry."
