Incredible but also sad and unlikely to happen for a while. I'm assuming Eugene is similar.

18 of SLE's record lows in January are single digits or lower from January 20-February 7 the warmest record low is 11, all others are single digit or sub-zero, so it would take a pretty epic blast to break any of those records. Some of those records in early February are from 1989, which many of us may remember, but is now almost 30 years ago.

Used to be a really good radiational cooling spot.

Yep, definitely not anymore. Still better than PDX, but one of the worst radiational cooling spots in the valley now.

Some really loud wind last night... my wife and I both have headaches this morning from restless and interrupted sleep.

Hoping that I will see my yard clear of leaves when daylight comes.   Give me some benefit from this storm... blow everything into the woods for me.   :)

Honestly hard to tell that happened today. It is incredibly dark for being early afternoon. No doubt the darkest day of the year. About as dark as it can be here for the middle of the day.

Looks wonderful. Been beautiful down here in Arizona, and will continue to be so. Everyday sunny and in the 80's...

Snoqualmie River added to flood watch... flooding during a drought!

I sent the SEA NWS an e-mail letting them know flooding is impossible unless the city of Seattle gets heavy rain according to Justin.     They replied with some gibberish about a "rain shadow".   Never heard of it.

Not when I am mocked for just reporting heavy rain occurring here... because SEA and OLM were in the rain shadow.    ;)

Looks like maybe there was some significant rain worth mentioning outside of the rain shadow.

After this significantly wet and stormy period for 10 days (through Sunday)... a quieter and drier 10-day period seems pretty likely up here.   I agree that it is very possible that we are technically below normal for precip for the month through the middle of November since most of this recent wet period was in October.

It will probably be very stormy again during the second half of the month if the normal ebb and flow continues... and November will still end up around normal or wetter than normal.

00Z EPS agreed with the operational run on deep western trough in the 8-10 day period.   California might get in on some action if that verifies.  That usually means its quieter up here.

A distinct and vigorous c-zone this morning in its default location along the King/Snohomish county line.    Could be some lightning and thunder in there.

Dry and windy here south of the c-zone.

Strong south wind across the area south of the c-zone but calm in the area in the c-zone.   SEA reported SW18G29 on the hour.

60 degrees in North Bend right now with a gusty SSE wind here.

Fun little storm last night.

Everett gusted to 51 mph and I lost power for about 5 hours. Can't say I was expecting that front to be so potent.
