The resorts always hope to be open by Thanksgiving, but generally it is a tossup if they are able to or not. If we are open by sometimes in the first week of December I wouldn't call it a super late start. The wind wasn’t too bad, considering we were on a high ridge, but the ground was frozen hard in many spots. Took some gravel backroads to the Phantom Bridge after the hike.
