March will likely be rainy along the coast, but since you live in BC, you already know this.

Anyway, the Redwoods would be nice to see, though you are already used to big trees.

I am used to big trees already. In the 90s, my family and I drove to California to see the Redwoods. We drove down the coast through WA, OR and into CA. We drove through that big hollowed out tree that I think fell over a few years ago.

I'm getting married in March! I've been trying to research different honeymoon ideas, and one is to drive into Oregon and/or Northern California. What would be nice places to see and do in the middle of March?

Silver Falls State Park is nice any time of year. If you are into hiking the Trail of Ten Falls a 7.5 mile loop hike is open most of the year. Only closed if the trail gets to icy (icicles can fall from some of the cliffs), or if there is a bad windstorm. In March it should be open and the falls should be flowing at a high volume.

Further south the North Umpqua River is an absolute GEM. There are quite a few waterfalls up the N. Umpqua River, you could see most of them in a day/afternoon and return to accommodations in Roseburg or stay at one of the rustic "resorts" along the upper river that are open year round. Tokotee is the most famous of these falls, a few miles upriver from there is a hot springs that is pretty unique perched high on a hill above the river.

If you are thinking coastal I would recommend Astoria, Newport, Yachats, and Brookings. The south coast is probably the most scenic part of the Oregon coast. I would avoid Seaside and Lincoln City, they are overrated.

Crescent City, CA and the Redwoods are great too.

Crater Lake is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in my life, but it would be very snowy in March. More of a Summer thing.

From what I hear, it’s very hard to even reach Crater Lake in March because most of the roads will be closed. It’s a subarctic climate that gets 500” of snow a year. I went on July 5 this year (the day the Klamathon Fire started) and there were patches of unmelted snow.

500”? Jesus that’s insane. Mt Mazama must have been beautiful.

I went there in April, 2014. I think the lodge stays open much of the year, but you can't do much else.
