Anti Marine Layer
Not overly hot today with an early stratus intrusion this evening. Looks to be similar for the weekend.
Anti Marine Layer
Low clouds could make it into parts of the Inland Empire tonight. That would be the first time in quite a while.
Reg
If I recall correctly, we last saw low clouds here in early July.

Thunder98
The Santa Maria Valley is still socked in with the marine layer after 10am. Feels more like May or June rather than Mid August.
Anti Marine Layer
Sea surface temperatures are below normal off the Southern California coast and well above normal for the PNW.

Anti Marine Layer
We have a bar at our pool every Sunday and it brings a large crowd of people who get drunker and drunker as the afternoon goes on. Other days there's not many people.
Anti Marine Layer
Low clouds are slower to form tonight, except in the Monterey area.
Anti Marine Layer
Another gloomier than usual August morning, but now it's pretty hot.

Anti Marine Layer
There must be some dust high in the air because sunsets have been extra red the last few days even with no clouds.
Reg
There must be some dust high in the air because sunsets have been extra red the last few days even with no clouds. There's another wildfire near here somewhere, inland. It was smoky all day today.
Anti Marine Layer
Starting out sunny again this morning.
Anti Marine Layer
There was some fog a few miles away in front of the coastal foothills this morning. The tops of the clouds were actually lower than the top of the hills.
Anti Marine Layer
Another warm evening after a hot day here while the PNW is getting their first "fall" storm system. Looks like this trough will have little effect here except to deepen the marine layer a little bit. Meteorological summer is almost over. We are losing a significant amount of daylight each day. Reg
Significant smoke from the wildfire in Camp Pendleton affecting us here again today, stinging eyes and the like.
Anti Marine Layer
Overcast low clouds have returned this morning possibly due to a coastal eddy spinning up.
Anti Marine Layer
Much cooler today than yesterday, with an early low cloud return likely this evening.
Anti Marine Layer
Tucson is getting some monsoon activity now with thunderstorms while Flagstaff stays dry.
Anti Marine Layer
Flagstaff is at a ridiculously low 1.02" so far for this monsoon season which starts June 15 every year. In 2009, they got only 2.87", which is the driest in the 2008-2019 period. They could end off drier than that this year. The monsoon season ends September 30, so there's still some time.
Anti Marine Layer
11 degrees cooler at 9 PM today than yesterday in Fullerton.
Reg
That bar graph confirms my findings about the summers of 2008 and 2009 being utterly lackluster.
Anti Marine Layer
Low clouds in the Inland Empire again this morning. Big change from 2 days ago.

Anti Marine Layer
Some areas of the Inland Empire are slower to clear than the San Diego coast this morning. Sunshine looks unlikely for Catalina Island today.
Anti Marine Layer
Southeast eddy flow today pulled clouds off shore despite a deep marine layer. When will we see some southeast monsoon flow?
Anti Marine Layer
Much less low clouds this morning compared to yesterday morning. They did not make it onshore here.
Anti Marine Layer
Persistent troughing over the PNW may be keeping the monsoons at bay, even in Arizona. So far it is the driest monsoon season to date on record in Flagstaff. I was there for a week once in July and there was thunder every day. 2010 had stronger troughing but Flagstaff got much more rain that year compared to this year.
