Looks like low clouds hung around most of the night, but they are starting to get wiped out now.

Sunrise this morning is at 6:51 AM here. That's the same time (in Pacific Daylight Time) as sunrise on the Winter Solstice. Sunset, however, is 1 hour and 37 minutes later and it could be smoky by then.

Santa Ana winds are not looking to be as strong as forecast, which is a good thing in terms of fire danger.

Cannot see the Santa Ana Mountains at all here in Irvine. Air looks very dusty. No wind here.

Dew point crashed at the Santa Ana Fire station a few hours after sunset.

3-day history is broken on the NOAA sites now, but the drier air did reach Orange County sometime overnight with a dew point of 7 reported at 5:53 AM at John Wayne Airport.

Haze is gone this morning. No more marine inversion.

Oxnard Airport had some insane Dew point swings yesterday. The Dew point temp went from -3 to 41 in just 5 minutes. That is truly remarkable!

Marine layer clouds are based at 1700 ft in San Diego, so there's no dense fog there, just the standard low clouds.

I walked a mile from work to the Spectrum to get lunch on Friday and even though it was near 90 degrees, the dry air was much more uncomfortable than the heat. Coming back with a cup of water, things were much more bearable.

Nope, but the front page of NWS San Diego shows all the weather threats over the next week. Both onshore and offshore winds that are strong this time of year can be dangerous with everything bone dry this time of year.
