Measured another 10" as of 7am this morning bringing my current base to 18" now...and it's still snowing. Already up to 21" on the month now. It's just been relentless.

Currently 21F with heavy snow still falling.

MSU Bobcats are playing at home today against Kennesaw State (Georgia) at 12pm MDT today. Should be a fun one to watch!

Currently 21F and heavy snow falling there right now as well.

Sounds like Bozeman Airport picked up 10" as well last night on top of 3-4" yesterday which brings their 24 hour snowfall total to 13-14" which is really impressive for them!

Looks like Great Falls dropped down to -9F this morning tying 2003 daily record for the date.

Should be a lot of below zero readings over the next few mornings with a substantial snowpack and a decently cold airmass for the season.

Really impressive. The 11.6" of snowfall at Bozeman yesterday was a new daily record for the date (no big surprise there!) and a new snow depth record of 10" for November 4th was also broken.

Even more impressive, 20.1" of snow has fallen in just the first 4 days of the month with more on the way tonight/tomorrow. I believe this makes it the snowiest start to November on record here.

Cold one out there today! Dropped down to 6F this morning with moderate snow falling. Very very dry 2" fell overnight and it's still snowing lightly. Brings my season total up to 35" and already 23" this month.

Roads are really bad out there as they didn't get the snow cleaned up well after the last big storm and now it is all frozen rock hard with another 2-3" on top of the ice.

Very chilly day on tap in the mid teens today then it's looking pretty likely I'll see my first below zero reading tonight. Slow warm up and drying trend begins tomorrow lasting through early next week besides for a few snow showers late in the week. By early next week it's looking like a return to a similar pattern that we have had over the past week. Cold and snowy.

First sub zero temps of the season are already occurring in the area tonight. I have already dropped down to 1F this evening guaranteeing me at least a 17/1 day.

Bozeman airport is already down to -4F this evening.

Some pretty impressive records have been broken today at the Bozeman Airport (BZN).

BZN recorded 14" snow depth this morning which is the highest snow depth since February 1975 and it is the highest November snow depth on record now.

BZN also dropped down to -12F this morning setting a new daily minimum record. Easily besting 2003's -4F on the day.

The snow depth is really quite impressive for this early in the year due to the Airports poor location in the Valley. BZN sits in the lowest portion of the valley and also records some of the lowest yearly precip amounts in the area due to precip shadowing from the Rockies.

Another cold day today. 21F/1F IMBY and 12F/-12F at the Airport which are both new record low and minimum highs for the date. -37F departure on the day, pretty impressive!

Snow is still heavily on the trees here and the roads continue to be a mess. Sure is beautiful though!

Impressively cold day for so early at BZN. I was just looking at their numbers too. Their earliest max for this early is 9F, so they weren't far off. Outside of the ridiculous departure on November 2, 1991 (9/-21 spread), today is about as cold as it gets for BZN this early in the season.

Picked up 2.5" of wet snow overnight here. Chinooks busted through here Thursday night which ate away a lot of the snowpack but I still have 6" on the ground as of this morning.

I'm at 5,350'. Downtown Bozeman sits at ~4,800' and the airport sits out in the lowest part of the valley (city of Belgrade) at 4,475'.

So I'm only about 500' higher than the city of Bozeman.

All this makes sense though as to why you are often so much colder/snowier than the airport. I did not realize the difference was that great and was often confused when you reported snow and then I would look at the airport conditions and it would be like 38 with rain.

Yeah, you can always check my weather station in my signature as well.  B)

If you've noticed lately though that the airport has actually been quite a bit colder than my location (such as tonight) as the airport does a lot better in these ridgy setups as they sit below the inversion and aren't quite as susceptible to the westerlies (Chinook wind) as I am.

You know how it is living at elevation... Cooler in the summer and during winter storms but warmer in inversion setups and tougher to decouple at night.

Models have trended towards a cold system here Thurs-Fri. If they hold, I will see a good soaking (perhaps .5") followed by 1-2" of snow. However, if the storm ends up tracking north at all I would see much less so its a wait and see sort of thing.

A balmy 72 for a high today. DEN is running slightly below normal for the month, but that's about to change, with plenty of warm days ahead over the next week.

November has consistently been the least wintry month relative to long term average over the 11 years I've lived here, and that looks to continue in 2017. Only 2014 has had above normal snowfall, and only 3 years have had cooler than normal temps: 2010, 2014, and 2015.

December, on the other hand, has been colder than normal 9 of the 11 years. January 5, and February 6.

Looking like a quick 1-3" of snow here tomorrow morning with a decent frontal band.

Westerlies are blowing tonight with gusts around 35mph and temps in the upper 40's currently. Potent little cold front should pass through here around midnight dropping temps down to or below freezing once again by the early morning hours.

Still hanging onto a snow depth of around 4" even with the impressive spike in temps today (peaked at 53F IMBY). The entire month of November snow cover streak continues...

Just dumping snow here this morning. Looks like the front has stalled along with a pretty potent snow band. Already looks like 3-4" out there. Definitely been an overachieving snow theme all this month.

Ended up with 6" of new snow here and a new current snow depth of 10". Pretty strong overachieving frontal band! This storm brings my monthly snowfall total to 32".

Downtown Bozeman is getting very close to the November snowfall record of 32.4" set back in 2009.

I've had over an inch of liquid and its been snowing off and on since about 10 am. It did briefly accumulate enough to coat the grass but has since melted. Upper levels are cooling so may yet see some accumulation as the day progresses.

Lucked out this weekend as I went up with some friends skiing at Keystone, and the one decent storm in this period of torching hit Friday night, dumping about 8". Just rain in Denver, though.

Now the torch is back on....looks like highs in the 60s for most of this week. Going to end up a very warm month here.
