Does anyone know if its snowing in Waterloo?

Waterloo reported rain at the top of the hour, but the KCRG Cedar Falls cam shows flakes falling.

Love this update from DMX:
Heavy, wet sticky snow is expected into the afternoon
with a few claps of thunder. Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per
hour are likely with total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches
and localized higher amounts. Winds gusting up to 35 mph are
  also expected.

Snowing pretty good here but only about a quarter inch.

I don't think you're getting 4+".

Temperature has quickly fallen to 35 degrees here in Cedar Rapids. Still no snow yet, but radar is begging to look better around here, and the main band to the north is supposed to move southeast later this afternoon as indicated by the HRRR. I have gotten 0.95" of rain so far today.

If Cedar Rapids can get an inch or more of snow today from this storm, this will be the first time since April 30, 1994 that more than an inch of snow has fallen here this late in the season.

I'm finally seeing some snow mixed in with the sleet.  Also, there appears to be at least 0.1" of sleet covering the ground, so I finally hit 50".

Terry Swails was WAY off with his last-minute addition of a 5-10" band along hw20.  We needed the temp a couple degrees colder and the storm a bit more wrapped up.

Looks like most areas the snow just didn’t accumulate very well. The largest total I see so far in Iowa is 4”

There were some periods of lighter snow and mixing, so yeah, it didn’t accumulate well. Has to absolutely rip continuously, and that just didn’t happen. I’m okay with it, though, especially since it barely accumulated on the sidewalks. Got to see some wonderful snowfall without actually having to clean it up.

I picked up 0.3" of sleet/snow.

My final season total is 50.2".

Tonight should be the last freeze of the season.

just traveled up 61 through Dbq. just south of the airport to ottercreek, it was snow balls coming down. Two cars and one Semi was surprised and landed in the ditch. Once in past key west north

the snow dried up.  West on 11, white out, road covered, Monroe to Janesville. Still coming down hard in Janesville

Still have a headline but waiting to see if this rain switches over in time to get any appreciable accumulation. Not looking too good for that attm. Lack of legit cold air may be an even bigger hindrance than the warm ground. First gotta have snow to lose it to warm ground, lol

I did not put a snowboard out today (oops—too busy thinking about infinity stones) but after some good bouts of heavy snow tracking across the southern half of the county after 4 p.m. with reduced visibility, I have an easy 3+ on grassy areas. I'd like to wish it was 4, but it's too hard to claim that on lush grass.

I picked up 0.63” of rain. Never saw a flake, but I think there briefly were a few sleet balls hitting the windows at one point. This fast changing wx pattern is kind of interesting.

For some reason I didn’t discover this storm thread till this morning and was wondering why it was so quiet on the April thread, but forgot to check earlier if there is one on this storm. Lol

I'm surprised that Waterloo had never received 60" before.  I would have guessed the record was 70-80".
