Why I'm Changing My Name from LNK_Weather

Decided I liked Illinois_WX's title idea from last year, so I stole it  :P

I know plenty of people probably won't care, but I am posting this for the few who do care. I will be moving out of Nebraska this upcoming Summer for school-related reasons. I have really enjoyed these past three years in Lincoln, and I do wish I could stay here. But, sadly, that is not possible. I will be moving to the Toledo, Ohio area, which had a craptastic Winter this year so hopefully that means it will correct itself in my first Winter there  :D.

Snowstorm83, you'll be the only Lincoln poster left so I'm looking to you to keep me informed. And to the rest of the Nebraska posters, I will obviously continue rooting for Nebraska to get hit (just as long as I don't get screwed in return!). Thanks to all of the Nebraska posters and all the rest on the board who have supported my style of posting for the past 2 years, and I look to continue it in Toledo! And to those Nebraska posters, while I may disagree with you sometimes, keep posting the way you do. We all have different styles of observing the weather and different levels of investment in storms and I feel like that's what makes this forum great.

I'll still be in Nebraska until June so let's get some severe action before I head off!

D****T, not another Nebraska poster!   :D  Good luck in Ohio though, sad to see you go. I guess I'll have to change my name to LNK_Weather now. Jk lol. But yeah, the Lakes are definitely favored in winter more often than Nebraska even though Toledo is on the wrong side of the lake for LES.

I'm kinda sad to go too! I might be back in a couple years, but I'm not even sure if you'll still be here by then. And yeah Toledo is on the wrong side of the lake, but when the stars align they can get LES so I'm hoping to at least see a couple flakes from the lake.

Pure LES nasso likely, but easterly winds during a storm brings some enhancement and in the right conditions, it can be quite a bit. They also scored an EF-4 twister in 2010 fwiw.  ;)

I probably won’t be in Nebraska forever, but if I do move away at some point I could see myself coming back. Ive definitely loved my time here though and get “homesick” when I’m visiting my family in Mississippi. Lincoln is a great place to live, but I feel bad for anyone visiting LOL. On the other end of the spectrum, I’d love to visit NYC one day, but could never live there.

Man, I'm glad I spottedth is Post or I would have thought you were gone. Enjoy the new climate.

Maybe you'll bring the stnow with you.

I may be moving myself in 3 yrs but I'll still be in Texas. It would take an army to drag me out if this State.

We'll be up on the Red River near Sherman and it's colder and wetter there. Lol. After this last winter, I'm second guessing my judgement. But family is there and once my husband is retired, we'll likely move to be closer.

It'll be fun for you to play with your new weather zone!

Good luck in Ohio! Sadly I don't think you'll see much for severe weather this year. Maybe a day but the trend doesn't look great. Edit: better hold my tongue might be something in a few days. But I'm guessing it's a hail threat.

I saw something alright :D
