A couple sailing their catamaran to Fiji came upon an enormous floating island of pumice.
It scraped along the sides of the craft in an eerie other worldly sea. It seems an underwater volcano erupted recently and the pumice has been slowly floating its way toward Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

You have to watch this short video of their sailing in the pumice. I used to sail a good deal and believe me, this would unnerve you. Luckily they tacked starboard and managed to get out of it and on to Fiji.
