12z GFS is much nicer with the trough this coming weekend than the 00Z was.

Must have fallen back in line with its ensembles.

Noticed the operational was a pretty big outlier on the 06z run too compared to the ensembles. Will be nice to have our pasture grass green up before we go into winter mode this year as we will likely be adding some goats and maybe hair sheep to the flock.

Up to .55” since midnight.

Some good news for those who don't want it to rain every single day (there are a couple of us goofy people in that group)... the 12Z ECMWF shows several dry days mixed in over the next 10 days.

Potential dry periods include:  Wednesday, Thursday, Friday afternoon, Saturday, and then next Tuesday - Thursday).    Plan accordingly!

Soooo 7 of the next 10 days look dry...sounds like you’re in a real pickle there!

Looking back at September 2013, it really is amazing how wet that month was. A lot of places completely blew their previous records out of the water.

Probably the most impressive was SLE's 7.05". The previous record was 4.84" from all the way back in 1914. Battle Ground's 8.85" gets honorable mention as well. Shattered their previous record by over 3", though their records are more spotty and don't go back near as far as SLE.

Long way to go for this month to be impressively wet, though the first third of the month is a nice start.

Early fall and cold seasons in general feel to me like they bode well for action during the winter here.

Looks like some stronger cells starting to fire to the SW of Portland.

Really inconvenient time for the coastal Radar to be down, can’t see anything SW of Olympia lol.

Beautiful sunny lunch hour here in Victoria

Some off and on light rain here so far today... but looks like it might dry out for awhile out here.   Also looks like some breaks in the clouds moving up from the south.

Was out on the back patio (covered) yesterday afternoon, roasting a big batch of Hatch Chiles when the first squall line of showers moved through. As hard as I have ever seen it rain in Salem. Totally overwhelmed the gutters and turned my backyard into a lake. The creek out back went from a trickle to a torrent in minutes. The airport barely got a drizzle while I had .65" in less than a half hour.

Amazing what the moisture carrying capacity of warm season air masses can be. (Not really amazing, but just not that common around these parts)

Holy hell, we have picked up .83 of rain in the last 15 minutes, insane. Sucks thatvthe radar is down.

That is insane. Can’t see the radar on the coast, can only see from roughly I-5 east in SW WA, but can see some strong cells also developing and moving NE. Strong cells in the NW interior and NW OR too.

He'll be in Toppenish or some godforsaken place those 3 days anyways.

Lots of wineries and some microbreweries around there.

We were close to there in July and had a great time at Hoptown Pizza in their huge outdoor patio area after wine tasting... with a live band and bocce ball courts and other activities.    They also have awesome wood-friend pizza.   It was very festive with lots of people and a couple bachelorette parties in limos.

Don't be such a prude, Justin.

Better book while you still can!

So depressing over there...

I hate having reliable sun and warmth so close. I wish it was all dark rain forest for hundreds of miles in every direction so there was no options. Topographical variety sucks!
