"Endless Summer." A phrase coined by Joe Bastardi to descibe the residual sea surface heat and its effect on east coast weather.

It tends to build a midlevel ridge in the east, and a Trof and mountain snow in the west.

Mid and long range shows below normal temperature anomalies Hudson Bay and north central Canada. Above temperature anomalies in Alaska.

In my 125 years of observation I Have never seen this. Does it mean anything? Waitng on the SPO.

If it is a La nina pattern this early. Tom T Hall sang, "It Sure Can Get Cold in Des Moines."

Fall has arrived. temps from upper 80's to upper 50s. It was an endless Summer indeed.

Haha, pretty much. My elevation sucks for snow and afternoon temps, but we do great with radiational cooling versus DC and even some areas to the north. Makes a huge difference on those summer mornings.

But unfortunately afternoons are just as bad here (if anything more humid, being surrounded by water on three sides with thick vegetation everywhere). 🥵
