Weather may have been boring, but at least tonight's sunset was not boring.

Pretty solid GFS ensemble agreement for a chilly period starting the 10th with low snow levels in the mountains again.  Now to see if it hangs on into the believable range.

Your sinuses probably won't like the way the models are trending toward drier, cooler, and windier solutions for late next week and beyond.  Feel better soon!

Sunset tonight at 4:56 PM, same time as November 3, when we ended Daylight Saving Time. Sunrise, however, is 44 minutes later.

Also days are exceeding 10 hours in length again.

Had a high of 76F today slightly warmer than yesterday. I noticed HPWREN finally removed Toro Peak from their camera network, as the cameras on that mountain have all been down since February.

Nice sunset this evening:

2 biggest storms of the season so far were on Thanksgiving and the night after Christmas. I would prefer to have the big storms while I am at work, not on vacation. However, we need the rain.

Weather looks to stay boring and monotonous for a while. Maybe some rain late next week.

Sunrise time has varied by an amazing 8 seconds this past week.

Taal volcano appears to be undergoing a large eruption in the Philippines. Volcanic eruptions, especially significant ones, in that part of the world almost always directly affects our climate here on the west coast of North America. Last time Taal erupted was 1977, which here in Southern California was followed by one of our wettest rainy seasons in history for 1977-78. The eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991 ended a five-year drought here as well and gave us a very cool summer.

No guarantees on how this will affect our weather, but this is definitely worth watching.
