I think May 2014 was warm. 4 out of the last 5 Mays have been exceptionally cool and cloudy, but this one has been mostly warm to hot except for this Monday and Tuesday.

May 2014 was close, but even here I recorded just a few sub-70 degree days that month between heat spells. 2014 was an exceptionally warm year overall though. I remember a few nasty wildfires broke out near me that month, one especially bad near Pala Mesa Village and Bonsall off the 15.

Memorial Day weekend looks to be summer-like this year. Too bad we are still under the stay-at-home orders. I had a timeshare vacation cancelled.

Yes, as overnight low temperatures have recovered from being unusually high earlier in the month. I recorded a low of 49F here just a couple of nights ago.

What happened to the supposed cool down for next Friday? It has been such a long time to see about a whole week of temps forecasted above 80F in May. It has been an incredible sunny and by the end of the week a very warm month.

We had a midday temperature drop today with the stratocumulus clouds, which finally dissipated around 3 PM. The morning was sunny.

Yet another warm spell in Early June? As May Grey was absent this year, it looks like same story is possible with June Gloom as well for the early part of the month.

The last time I recorded any precipitation was 1.17" back on April 10th. Looks like a dry May for me this year. The last 0.00" May I recorded was in 2014.

Starting off cloudy every day, which is limiting any major heat within 10 miles of the coast, but it's fairly typical for this time of year. Beaches can be 40-50 degrees cooler than the desert and 10-20 degrees cooler than places like Fullerton and Downtown L.A.

The low caused Redding to drop from 100 for a high yesterday to 68 today. No wonder it destroyed the marine layer inversion.

Desert looks to be toasty tomorrow while we have this unusual cirrus version of "June Gloom" which even affected some desert areas today.
