BLI snowman
Washington actually tied 1933-34 for its warmest winter on record this year! Oregon underachieved and finished a couple tenths of a degree behind 1933-34.. Oregon did have its highest average winter maximum on record. California had its warmest winter on record for the 2nd consecutive year. 2014-15 was 1.5 degrees warmer than 2013-14. Utah, Arizona, and Nevada all joined in on the record warm fun. Then we have the last 12 months.... some pretty eye popping stuff there Oregon finished a degree warmer than its next warmest March 1-February 28 (1933-34). Washington finished about 0.8 degrees warmer than its next warmest (2004-05). California finished over a degree warmer than its next warmest (2013-14).
Phil
If it weren't for the warm December, this would've been the coldest winter in recorded history over much of the Eastern US. Jesse
OLM's numbers matter above all else. Statewide ranks based on an aggregate of stations are just a joke compared to OLMs numbers, really. UHI!!
Jesse
The crazy thing is we are now on track for another insanely warm month out west. Probably a lot warmer than last March.

Pretty clear the warmth is outpacing the cold by a wide margin. This is true both nationally and globally.
Guest happ
The irony that the Pacific Northwest had a California 'winter'; lots of sun but occasional heavy rainfall every 2 weeks. Is this the future?

If it wasn't for not making the playoffs in 2011, losing in the division round in 2012 and losing to the Patriots last month, the Seahawks would have won the last four Super Bowls. Truly an unprecedented run of dominance. Quote My preferences can beat up your preferences’ dad.

Phil
Pretty clear the warmth is outpacing the cold by a wide margin. This is true both nationally and globally.Sure, but that's beside the point and is expected in a +ENSO/+Solar/-QBO, especially under a high AAM integral. richard mann
Not.... a very good analogy .... But true .. nonetheless. From "ranking" the winter (wherever.), to ranking analogies, of more hypothetical winters, .... — What's next where looking at things, more in general, more degressively. ? (Here, I wonder.)
