"The model draws on dynamo effects in two layers of the Sun, one close to the surface and one deep within its convection zone. Predictions from the model suggest that solar activity will fall by 60 per cent during the 2030s to conditions last seen during the 'mini ice age' that began in 1645. "

I'm going to leave it to you folks that watch and study this closely to weigh in. I realize it's an untested model and there is no way of knowing how reliable it is, but many have been suggesting the same thing based on other models and research. So, here it is, another prediction. Do we all dash out and invest in North Face clothing, or are our old togs sufficient ?

Its an interesting idea for sure. I am with you though that there is no way to know for sure at this point. We will just have to watch and see what happens over the next few years. We should know if it is on the right track if the next cycle is indeed much weaker.
