November 2015 in the Pacific Northwest

We've had this discussion before...like many discussions on here.

Missoula is ok. Probably not in my top 10 of western mountain cities/towns I'd live in, but way better than many places in this country, no doubt.

It's a semi-arid climate that is often pretty boring for weather. Big snowstorms over 6" are a rarity.

Bellingham definitely kicks Missoula's a** for winter wx.

In all seriousness though, I would take Kalispell over Missoula. But Missoula would still be very nice.

Yeah, I prefer places that experience a little more in the way of extremes. There are plenty of places in the Rockies/Intermountain West that see bigger winter storms, more thunderstorms, and variable temps than Missoula, while just as scenic or more.

And to be honest, if I'm right on the interstate I'd rather be a little closer to a big city. Missoula is 3 hours and 15 min to Spokane.

Here's some other cities/towns I'd prefer:

Bozeman, MT

Livingston, MT

Whitefish, MT

Sandpoint, ID

Kalispell, MT

Evergreen, CO

Palmer Lake, CO

Manitou Springs, CO

Steamboat Springs, CO

Smithfield, UT

Is today seriously going to hit 65?

The neverending warm season. Just when you think it's over, it's not!

Move north...52 degrees up here currently.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

California sucks

Seriously. I wish it would move back down south where it belongs.

Meanwhile California seems to have switched from a Mediterranean climate to a sub-tropical one the last few years.

Everything has been shifting north. It would almost be interesting if we weren't on the precipice of global disaster.

The day after tomorrow was a shitty movie.

More annoying than the gloomy November weather.

Like a crazy person standing on a street corner with a sign proclaiming the end of the world!

You could do a lot worse. WA is ranked #7 in the nation for overall "well-being", according to the latest study: https://wallethub.com/edu/most-least-happy-states-in-america/6959/

The key word is "overall". Notice they rank WA or OR as having the two highest depression rates. But, as long as you're not prone to depression you could do a lot worse for places to live.
