All white here, already feels like I have more snow than I did on Christmas eve (which was almost nothing). I forgot how quickly snow can accumulate when everything is already frozen. Precip is still light of course.5 points

Worth mentioning - this is the latest 3" snowfall (officially) in Portland since Feb. 28, 1962. We just beat Feb. 19, 1993 by one day for the honors. Also, a first - this is the latest in the season that PDX has had a high of 34 or lower, with 3"+ of snow. Again, just beat out 2-19-1993.4 points

Looks like our snow is just about over in SW WA. 2" new, in addition to the 1.3" that fell this morning. A solid 3" depth.3 points

I now have the most snow on the ground during this whole February event. The roads are covered for the first time.3 points

Thanks man. A little shaken up and some bumps and bruises but I’m all good. Was on my way to pick up my 16 month old son. Just glad he didn’t have to live thru that.3 points

Beaverton just made the call to end schools early today. Getting out at 12 p.m.! Woo hoo!3 points

Light snow and 30 here. Maybe up to 1/4”. We still had a crusty half inch in the shade from the night before last that is now covered. Building a snowpack!3 points

Good luck, guys! This storm/pattern is well deserved after the last several years of blah. Last winter wasn’t nearly enough to even things out.3 points

Looking at the reanalysis on the 500mb pattern that delivered the Arctic front I can see it why we didn't get much snow here. A while back I did a composite of 500mb maps associated with Arctic fronts that delivered snow to Seattle and ones that didn't. This one was squarely in the low snow camp. Next time around I'm going to use that data to make my snow predictions with the Arctic front.2 points

I held a minute of silence for our friends to the north, before I went for my snow walk. #considerate2 points

I wasn't going to post anything tonight, but I have to point out both the ICON and GFS are colder on everything through day 5 at least. Absolutely amazing how the cold keeps getting added to. The GFS continues to be amazingly stingy on Seattle snow however.2 points

Very heavy snow in Gresham right now! Can barely see anything because the wind is ripping! Have maybe 3 inches.2 points

Record cold max of 13 at DEN today. The high of 14 at Boulder appears to be the coldest high this late since 1962.2 points

Rapid City (the NWS WFO) actually finished with 11.0"; one of the best totals. They are a good snow station; with a mean of about 51" (the record is only 21 years long there); which is about 8" more than the Airport...which is 12 miles to the east and out on the plains of western South Dakota. The airport is also at a lower altitude than the WFO. The WFO is in downtown Rapid City...which is right on the eastern slopes of the Black Hills. The airport; however, records much colder temperatures than the WFO...as it is out in a rural setting and is less subject to warm intrusions from west of the Black Hills.2 points

Snow flurries here in Port orchard and we are just on the northern edge of precip. Good news. If snow starts to stick I am closing for a snow day!!2 points

I think 2-4" amounts will be very common with some areas hitting 5-7".2 points

Solid dusting on the road here as well. Just about all of my Sunday snow had already melted off out of the shade. Just going to be a matter of how much we warm up here during the lighter precip early this afternoon. I think about 34 or so locally, PDX maybe 35-36.2 points

I think seattle area may do good tomorrow evening. Seattle office kinda touched on this. At this time I would not be shocked to see portland to olympia buried under 6 -12 inches by late tomorrow and maybe 2-4 north of Olympia to Seattle.2 points

I've had close to 1.5" of rain thus far with lots of standing water in my back yard. Getting a pretty good down pour ATM with a much needed lull in the action after this rolls through. I think with the next round of rainfall later this afternoon/evening I can solidly reach the 2" mark and depending on where the heavier bands set up I might top the 3" mark.2 points
