February 2019 Weather Observations and Discussion Part 2

Seems like a bad estimate. Unless you are talking about overall seasonal total or something.

My seasonal total is up at 5-1/2 inches, and I live pretty high up (about 1000 ft). That definitely seems like a bad estimate, especially for one day.

Have a feeling this next one coming will impact Puget Sound as well.

Very unlikely it will be meaningful though.    Impact is a strong word for a little snow in the air and a high in the low 40s.   That is what the ECMWF has been showing for a few runs now and its only 36 hours away.

Perhaps this will be the storm for PDX with impact to Puget Sound as well.

Temps don’t seem very favorable, but I’d love it.

I was thinking effect and said impact.  I have been watching this day since Saturday and things are now changing fast for at least some snow. I'd like an impact.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

I probably wouldn't worry too much about it. If majority of this falls during the night with below freezing along with the East winds, I think PDX will be fine. The snow cover will also keep temps down during the daytime.

East winds always provide a nice surprise. I hope the Sound gets in on this one too.

I know you would like an "impact".    That goes without saying.   :)

But you have all of the maps for the last 10+ ECMWF runs posted here for that day and it looks even less impressive now than it did a couple days ago.   And its never looked like anything much.     And its almost here now.

Alright then... 4-6 inches for Seattle on Wednesday.   Maybe 10-12 inches.

I have nothing to support that prediction but the hopes and dreams of others.   And that is all you need!

Too little! 10-12 feet.

People still have food left over from the mid-Feb. storm man!

Just did a traffic cam tour of the Portland/Vancouver area... hard pressed to find any sign of snow anywhere.

Don’t rub it in :/

Lows forecast in the 20-25 range at my place through Sunday night with the exception of Wednesday night which is forecast to be a little warmer with more clouds. Would be amazing if that verified.
