Front Ranger
Looks like we may finally see some decently wet weather here this weekend. Desperately hoping so...have only seen 3 days all summer with more than .08", and a grand total of 1.26" since 6/1. About 25% of normal. Quote A forum for the end of the world. Kayla
Another very strong storm with constant lightning moved through here this evening dropping 0.74" of rainfall in 30min and a whole bunch of hail. Up to 2.35" of rainfall on the month now with more expected tonight/tomorrow and on Sunday with a cold early season trough. So after a dry July and early August things have really turned quite wet. 1 Quote Cold Season 2023/24: Total snowfall: 26" Highest daily snowfall: 5" Deepest snow depth: 12" Coldest daily high: -20ºF Coldest daily low: -42ºF Number of subzero days: 5 Personal Weather Station on Wunderground: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMTBOZEM152#history

Kayla
August will end slightly below average here. Looks like the Bozeman Airport will end with around a -2F departure for the Jun-Aug Summer period. Very Fall like day here today. Low of 39F this morning with extensive cloud cover and rain showers expected throughout the day. Should only top out in the low to mid 50's. Currently 49F. Weather has been beautiful until smoke rolled in this morning, now it's very thick. Front Ranger
A couple of notes on the historic nature of both this month, and the coming crash. - DEN set an all-time September record of 101 degrees on Saturday. It's worth noting that the official location for DEN records changed in 1995 and the current location is more prone to heat extremes, being further from the mountains. Most other locations in the area did not hit triple digits. - There is a very good chance many locations in the region could see the coldest highs on record this early over the next couple days. The earliest record of a high in the 30s for all Denver stations, dating back to 1872, is 9/17. Denver is forecasted to have a high of 35 tomorrow and 38 the following day. - The combination of heat followed by cold is obviously unprecedented for this time of year. DEN had a high of 93 today. Within 24 hours, we should see a temp about 60 degrees colder. The all-time 24 hour temperature change is 66 degrees. However, the biggest change ever in September was 55 degrees. 1 1 Quote A forum for the end of the world.
