Nightmare driving 75 to 36. Add in the rain and people are just driving me nuts. It took 3 hours to get to St. Joe

I took that detour Monday morning to get from Omaha to Columbia, MO for work and then to get back home on Tuesday evening, it was bad enough with almost ideal weather conditions. The rain had to make it almost unbearable.

Not pleasant, all the semi traffic and people not used to driving rural highways.

Only 0.27" of rain here last eve. CR probably got at least half an inch, is my guess. Grass was greening a bit here and this should help some more.

Not even close.  The bright-banding on radar was misleading.  I only picked up 0.21" of rain.

The Burlington/Keokuk area was the bullseye.

Yeah I knew they got 1"-2" in far se Ia. Must of been the lower PWATS up north reducing rainfall amounts. I've noticed in prior years when pwats are high, bright banding like last eve would've been pouring rain! Radar estimates for that Linn county band were way off , & I guessed wrong even if I went by the lowest end of radar estimate. Estimates down here aren't that far off.

One more these flakes are a quarter or bigger. Biggest I've seen in a bit.

The Eastern sliver of Nebraska around the Missouri and Platte rivers is actually forested. You don't really get to stereotypical Nebraska until you're West of Lincoln.
