TacomaWaWx
Well Wednesday and Thursday look alright up here this week. Gonna go kayaking those days then been awhile since the weathers been decent enough. Cloudy morning here again and 45 with rain on the way in a few hours. Overall looking at the weather models it seems that there’s overall still chances for rain over the next 10 days but breaks in between which is nice. Seems Less persistent and gloomy than the pattern to start April off. ShawniganLake
We have only had 6 times as much rain as you this month here. It’s a bit of an interesting part of our climate here locally as we do tend to dry out more notably in the spring than other parts of the area. On average we are slightly wetter than the parts of the lower Fraser valley, such as Abbotsford. But by the time we get to April, May and June we only get about 1/2 as much rain as that area. Its been wetter than normal here since 2013... but this year has a chance to actually end up drier than normal. TT-SEA
Must suck since you like dry weather. I just appreciate the dry days more. About half the days are dry here annually. I enjoy the dry half of the climo equation... and almost never worry about not getting enough rain. October - December of last year was a little above normal in terms of total rain... but the number of days with rain was exactly normal. Not one complaint from me in that period. I enjoyed it... good balance. A good one is $35. So the Cedar Lake station is not over 12 inches? Because it has not even updated for last Friday when it rained hard most of the day here and its already 11.45 inches without that included. It might be over 13 inches now. The perpetual warm front pattern we had earlier in the month heavily favors the hills around here. There was numerous days when it was not that wet in the valley but very wet up here. So I think my backyard is very close to the Cedar Lake station this month. And even the Snoqulmie Falls station is way above normal for the month. Preferably a manual gauge. A good one is $35. It honestly doesn’t surprise me that 12” of rain could fallen up there. Been lots of good convergence zones that have set up in the central cascades this month. The cedar lake station did also say it was close to 12” not long ago like tim said. Been much drier down here near the sound. However I do agree that getting a weather station is almost a necessity for anyone on this forum to be honest we all pay too much attention to the weather to not have one. Omegaraptor
Tim lives in a wet foothill microclimate influenced by the Convergence Zone which did have an impact there as Cliff Mass said in an earlier article. 12” is probably a stretch, but I could easily believe 10”.
