Average high was -4 degrees departure and the mean was 55.5 this month (-2.0 departure). 1.87" precipitation at KLMT, more than 3 times normal September rainfall. And let's look at a comparison of the coldest high temperature last so many Septembers... 09/29/2019 - 47*09/30/2018 - 6409/21/2017 - 5409/22/2016 - 5809/16/2015 - 5309/25/2014 - 6009/25/2013 - 47*09/23/2012 - 7309/25/2011 - 6309/09/2010 - 6009/29/2009 - 52 I had my coolest in 6 years it looks like. Interestingly Sep 2012 didn't even feature heatwaves in K-Falls, just consistently warm. My hottest week of September was in 2017 first 7 or so days. I have a good feeling about winter Then the uncertainty and anticipation shifts from "will it snow" to "will it be as epic as forecast". Then it's a "wow, this is incredible, it really happened!" if it all pans out and is as epic as forecast (or, better yet, more epic, as on the morning of 9 Feb this year when I woke to 8" on the ground and still snowing hard after a night when up to 6" was forecast). September 2019 was the most active September I have ever seen in terms of weather and hope to see more September’s like this one in the future. The coldest low I’ve ever recorded for the whole month of October is 34 on 10/31/06. I can’t ever recall seeing frost on the ground before November here so close to the Puget Sound.
