Ended up with 3.8" of snow since midnight. With this event I am good with how the winter turned out. December/January were a torch, but we had a fair amount of snow. It could have been worse like 2014-15 when it barely snowed at all.

My Dad picked up 1.5" at his place in Silverton. Nice to see the Valley salvage something this winter., With apologize to our Eugenian friends.

I like how Tim made sure to get on here and post how it did not snow at his house, how it was above freezing, and how it will be mild next week.

Hey now. This in an unprecedented event in many ways and he is handling it as best he can. Any sitting preeminent forum troll would be struggling right now given the unusual circumstances.

I am happy that people in Portland scored and said that. And really enjoy the fact the there is more snow there than here... that is a nice change.

I am also genuinely looking forward to the coming week.

Nice looking batch of precip moving into Portland.

That band dropped almost an inch here. Sun coming out now and 34.

Honestly... one of my favorite things is when other places score more than me. This worked out perfectly and it looks beautiful going forward... no complaints from me.

GFS did not look overly warm for Oregon this week. Airmass will be colder down here. LaLa land has a big foothills snow event.

Totally wierd how the bookends of this season both featured record setting cold events.  No doubt records will fall with this and some probably already have.  Nice to see the atmosphere is demonstrating we are still in a good regime overall.  Too bad the core of the winter just couldn't get there this time.

A week of sun and highs in the upper 50s and low 60s is not that typical for mid-March up here.   Should be the nicest week of the year so far.

It's going to be more continental than typical.  Big diurnal spread coming.

That upper level low spinning over Oregon this week will keep it cooler down here.

Yeah... Seattle might go 8 or 9 days without rain.    That is not very common in March and could be the longest dry stretch since late October and early November.

Getting our heaviest snow of the day here in Tacoma currently. Winter is officially saved...not as good as the last 3 years but much better than the likes of 14-15, 15-16 and 09-10.

I have been watching that thing like a hawk

A little nudge northward and we could see some big improvements in the weather next week. It seems there has been a minor trend in that direction.

I'm dying to see what the mins are going to be like.  Maybe WA will have a better shot at that with more clouds in OR.  We shall see.

Certainly a good flow of cold low level air coming down Puget Sound.  Tacoma Narrows and West Point are both well below 40 with fairly strong N winds.  This is some pretty impressive stuff.
