Give me a snowflake reaction if you enjoy waking up to new snow falling on top of old snow (Which is actually on top of other snow).    Snow.

72 and sunny here...glad the smoke was brief and not too impactful here. Hopefully that is the last of it for the summer but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it return considering the extreme fire danger that will continue for the foreseeable future.

Fun to see something potentially historic on the horizon. One of the reasons I love it here is learning about it since I know so little of atmospheric science.

Looks like we got down to 48F last night. 83F and smoky.

The extremeest fire danger is south of the max winds?

From everything I’ve seen it seems to match pretty well with where the max winds are forecast. The Gorge and downslope off the northern Oregon coast range to the beaches is going to be cranking.

Is this going to be a gap wind event or a mountain-wave CCG event? I'm struggling to know.

More of a mountain wave event, but not entirely by that definition. It’s definitely not a gap wind event as gradients will be particularly deep.

Kind of a hybrid. There will be strong winds blowing through the typical gaps but they won’t be confined to them.

Doing some significant upgrades today through tonight, forum will be up and down.

How are we supposed to do our daily scheduled weather preference battle later this evening? We had one earlier this morning but it resolved nothing.

My weather app is showing Monday Tuesday cloudy, is it smoke? The high on Tuesday is 84

Probably haze but there shouldn't be much of it. Updated 7 day forecast.

Here is a zoomed in view of where they think the extremely critical area is. From around Hillsboro/Tigard to Corvallis. Maybe due to a combination of where the strong offshore winds are and also the areas further south are in more severe drought conditions.

EPS indicating a shift in the tropical forcing(s) towards the equinox. Irrespective of the projected wave train, I think that is when we’ll see this pattern terminate into a more +NPO/wave dispersion regime.

Neat. I guess pruning the db and upgrading PHP to a version that was developed wasn't developed with Blackberry support in mind has made things significantly faster.
