  1. Past hour
  2. They’ve both become Ho’s.
  3. Sort of funny... I only saw the left side when I glanced at the post earlier and thought 80s for highs can't be that bad. Only when you quoted it did I see the actual high temps. Ouch.
  4. at PDX today. This should be the last 70s for the month. The next one will be in May.
  5. Today
  6. I think their 2" on August 24th 1992 is absoluetly f****** absurd. At least in June there is just enough residual wintertime cold left over at the poles to drop snow levels down to 5k feet should it be displaced south, and enough of a poleward thermal gradient still in tact to spawn strong-ish cutoff lows around the meridian line. Mid-late August is a joke of a time to get a snowstorm, even at their somewhat high elevation. They pretty much combined the strongest weather system possible at that time of year with the coldest air possible... Neither factors being very impressive nonetheless. But enough is enough. The only month I doubt they could pull off a snowstorm at all would be during July, and even then I bet the first week holds some out-there potential in the right setup. July 15-August 15 is off the table though. I think....
  7. Gorgeous evening. My daughter got the Irish setter up on her trampoline and is hosing her down. Pandemonium.
  8. Pi-Day event had its interesting parts. Before the main bout of supercells in IN/OH, there was one lonely supercell that travelled from near Cincinatti all the way to my vicinity a few hours prior, with nothing else picking up on JKL radar around that time. Then all the later night storms developed into an MCS hitting me around 2am. Overall the Feb 28 and April 2 events gave me much more of a uh-oh feeling in the gut. Pi-Day had a ton of large hailers, and a few storms that happened to hold together a stronger tornado. Not to say 3/14 wasn't a good one though, Ohio was a surprise during that one as they weren't exactly bullzeyed at first.
  9. Oh, I think one side is just a bit more guilty of that than the other. Trump has taken the racist nationalist playbook and made it his platform. He is the GOP nominee and has a real chance at being the next president. No sane person can make that claim about the left and Biden (even if he is Netanyahu's little biatch). And I loathe what a lot of the left has become.
  10. God forbid the two sides treat each other as human beings. They might find a way through this d*** swamp!!
  11. Wow indeed. I cannot believe this was allowed to happen for so long. I love how the right tars and feathers the left for being anti-capitalism but then sees nothing wrong with corporate America doing some of the most anti-capitalist actions imaginable. Gotta love it. Lina Khan is a badass, no matter how ugly Andrew finds her. Perhaps he is intimidated by strong, intelligent women?
  12. I know SPC pretty much will only do that for big tornado days. I don't necessary see anything to suggest a high end tornado outbreak just yet, but it's not out of the question either. Don't get me wrong, there will be tornadoes, I'm just not sold on the worst of the worst just yet.
  13. Exactly. Need to catch up on deficit so it's nice to do that while we are out of town. I don't have a strong desire to see more 50 degree rain. But I am sad we missed most of today. Ended up getting up to 75 in North Bend.
  14. Dude..... then why do you think he was complaining about it....????? Tim can correct me if I'm wrong, but it seemed like he wants it to be rainy and cold while he's gone to help with the potential water problems this summer, and then nice weather when he comes back. My comment was an example of that (but as snow instead of sun), defending his comment.
  15. I declare it a crime for anywhere in California to have a high less than 70 F any day from April 16 to October 31.
  16. Yesterday
  17. Day #2 here. At least it’s consistent! The humidity is the absolute worst.
  18. I went to the Columbia River Gorge today are there’s still some drifts on the Oregon side that’s sheltered away from the . It’s probably from the January storm and it’s crazy it hasn’t melted yet in 3 months.
  19. Not in my local library, but I do see there is a free downloadable PDF of that book on that page. (And not by error; it has a Creative Commons copyright that allows for free distribution.) It took me about three minutes to conclude it is Marxist garbage (the Table of Contents is your friend), and it gets to the core of (while I am a leftist) I am definitely not a Marxist. The guy’s theories of racism have nothing to do with it. In fact, I haven’t even read those parts of the book, so I am not qualified to comment on those aspects of it. Rather, it’s the crushing bureaucracy of his plan. He wants all his students to keep a gosh-darn fscking time sheet accounting for all the course work they do. I am just not into paperwork or bureaucracy. That already made me dislike college. I would never voluntarily be a student in one of this clown's classes. If I found I was, I would have dropped it and taken it via another section taught by another instructor. And then there is the whole work aspect. What happened to working smarter, not harder? Why should spending four hours on a term paper make the paper automatically better than spending two hours? What about taking a hike in the foothills above campus, getting a great idea, and then writing a paper? Because I spent two hours hiking and two hours writing, I get a worse grade than someone who stayed cooped up at a desk with writer's block for two hours, then spent two hours cranking out a mediocre paper? Bureaucratic garbage, very USSR-esque. Or, very Corporate Capitalist-esque (big business can be as stiflingly bureaucratic as big government). Right out of workers pretending to look busy for the boss. He probably wants students to study for tests, too (and tracks this time, and grades on it). That is something else that never worked for me. Either I learned the material the first time, or I didn't. If I studied for a test, all it would do is create test anxiety which would impact my performance on test day. Better to goof off and see a movie the night before the big final exam. Eff that guy and his micromanaging bureaucratic ways. But the racial justice aspect of his ideas has nothing to do with it.
  20. I had to sign one when I sold our chemical plant. D**n. Could have used this.
  21. https://www.foxweather.com/earth-space/full-pink-moon-april-2024 Should be visible in Midwest for 4-5 days.
