Yep, finally an overperformer! Got 5" last night, and then another heavy band moved in this evening and dropped a couple more. Here's a pic from about an hour ago at a nearby golf course.

60deg Seattle mark in jeopardy! Currently 59. Rain is about to happen which should cool the air down a bit but it might be too late.

Please god give us some severe weather out here. Even that is managing to go around us right now, I would KILL for a good storm to roll through this weekend!

I think Denver is probably the dream location for a well rounded weather location. Most winters are snowy, with huge storms being possible. It can get quite cold but its not necessarily relentlessly cold. Summers have lots of convection with severe convection being relatively frequent and yet its not too crazy humid. If you want really severe weather you can travel east, or you can head into the foothills to your west for hiking or more snow. Wind storms can occur from the west as well. Only downside I think is that you can have some really dull dry periods if the wrong pattern sets up, similar to what is happening there this spring. If you are less into snow and more into thunderstorms anywhere in the central or southeastern US can fit that bill. I will never stop loving snow, but I've lived in a very snowy place for most of the last 10 years, I wouldn't mind going somewhere with less snow and more thunderstorms.

That's called paranoia. There are psychiatrists that can help.

I think my final call will be a B-. December and January were great with frequent heavy snowstorms and below normal temperatures. That section of winter would be a solid A. However, nov as well as both feb and march were blowtorchs and so the winter ended above normal. We haven't had any significant snow since March 5th, which is quite unusual, and both Feb and March were way below normal snow wise. We also had no significant east winds storms, although we did finally have a very modest one the other day. There were no major lake effect snow events either. Some pluses include the coldest temperature since 1996 I believe, and the wettest March day in history (6th all-time). I think to me that adds up to a B-.

My friend lives in Golden, Co, looks like they picked up a few inches of snow.

NAM has not backed down and continues to bring these crazy totals. With a negative tilted storm I'm sure there will be some very healthy returns so I could see where a few inches would not be out of the question. It will all come down to when the transition occurs. Slow mover so could see some nice lollipops.

Picked up 1-2" of snowfall overnight. Clouds are breaking now, should be a beautiful day! Currently 25º.

Figures, I've been doing cleanups since last week, looks like I may be doing those over now.

As you correctly noted, not all Niños are creating equally. This one feels more like an old school, 70s/80s/early 90s style event, given where the EPAC is right now.

Sunny and beautiful today, finally!

What is that yellow star in the sky??? Oh ya, I think they call it the SUN! It brings a smile to my face to see the sunshine finally. It's a frosty, chilly start to the morning over here. Temps this morning have jumped into the upper 30's. Looking forward to my flight out of ORD later tonight and head to AZ and jump start into summer mode.

I like where I live. Plenty of snow, not to hot. The older I get the less I enjoy extreme cold, so the moderate climate is okay. I think I would enjoy living somewhere with a little more sunshine and drier spring weather, and maybe a few more summer t-storms. I've always thought Spokane would be nice. At the top of my list is probably Joseph, Oregon. My wife wants to retire to the Crescent Lake area of Central Oregon, her dad worked on he railroad and they spent a lot of summers there when she was growing up, as they'd follow him on the job in the summer. They probably get about 140" of snow a winter at least there.

I'm sure he'd be thrilled to have us move in.
