Wow! July 24th ....... 85* @ noon. DP 58*. Humidity 37%....!! Gorgeous out there for Texas, baby! I think we'll have a July without a 100* day.4 points

Had a high of 80F and a very low DP of 49F! Just an incredible day. Absolutely perfect with not a cloud in the sky except for some haze from with wild fires up north.3 points

Plenty of record low's beings set across the southern Sub...I'm sure our friends down in TX/OK are enjoying these temps.2 points

There were also dry thunderstorms that moved over in the middle of the night the night before last, on Adams south side. Lots of lightning. Hopefully no fire starts, I haven’t seen any smoke from up on the ridge the last two days.1 point

They hit 82. So good for a -1. Chilly low helped. It was cold and windy camping on the south side of Adams last night. This morning started calmer and cold then it warmed into the low 70s this afternoon with crystal clear skies and a light breeze.1 point

I mean it could still end up being smoky at some point around the region but its less likely this year it seems. No major fires on the west coast currently or in BC. Hopefully we can totally avoid it this year and not deal with it as severely as we did the last 2 summers.1 point

Well I’m definitely hoping the trend of no wildfires continues throughout August, as I’m going to Mount Shasta on the 22nd-26th. It’s pretty nice to not have endless smokestorms over the Northwest.1 point

59 for me this morning. Out west a record low of 49 was set. Crazy for July. Perfection this afternoon.1 point

Verbatim there is some tropical energy coming up between the Aleutian Ridge and 4CH on the 12z GFS, but the source of the “trough” over the PNW is the wavetrain itself (IE: Aleutian Ridge/BC trough/Plains Ridge within the broader negative annular mode).1 point

This front has been wonderful. I can certainly enjoy this where it might be a bit warm for my northern brothers. I expect some tropical storms. Texas is used o them and in many ways, often breaks the back of our heat. Hurricanes may be few this year for everyone.1 point

Because you would throw a tantrum over “east coast pics on a PNW forum”. At least that’s what you usually do. But sure. You want a picture or a video?1 point

After the cool spring we had July has surprised me on how warm it has been. For what it is worth the string of 80 or better at Grand Rapids and Lansing has ended at 27 days. As far as I can tell this is one of the longest string of 80 or better days for Grand Rapids. The longest I can find was 52 in 1921. 47 in 1988 and 34 in 1947. as of this morning Grand Rapids July’s mean is 76.1° and that is good for a departure of +4.1° If this carried out to the end of the month that would be good for 11th all-time warmest July at GR. In the last 10 years GR has had 2012 (79.2°) in 2nd place 2011 (77.0°) in 6th place and 2010 (75.5°) in 13th place. We will know in 9 days how July 2019 ends up.1 point
