  3. That pesky -NAO in late Spring always tends to show up at the wrong time. Models are now in strong agreement for a monster Greenland Block to develop on Easter ...where have we seen this before? This may cause pause for concern to those of you near the Lakes region. The season of "back door" cold fronts off the lakes rings a bell. Hopefully the 00z EPS is right and maintains the warmer look throughout the holiday weekend.

  4. I had to travel to a place near El Centro in the Imperial Valley yesterday, it was quite warm out there. Very windy as offshore flow kicked in, temps in the low 80s.

  5. Folks up north going out on a toasty note for the month, no doubt. Bout sums up the rest of this one. It has truly been an exceptionally variable and beautiful March here. It's what spring is all about. Dandelions are up and that all but guarantees, that major anomalous cold in any form is gone from here.

  6. It is now up to 74 here at my house. The official reading at GRR is now up to 71. That official 71 ties 1910 for the 2nd warmest March 23rd in recorded history at GR. 74 is the record set in 1907.

  7. Seeing dust storm pics out on socials from yesterday/very recently and a couple of other times this year has reminded me of the pics of the dust bowl in the 1930s. https://news.yahoo.com/dust-storm-leaves-texas-drivers-004603936.html

  8. In the Great lakes, the real warmth is happening now. It will get colder of course, but already seeing signs any cold shots will be brief with overall warmth reigning over the region in the Great Lakes in the long term.

  9. 89F here today, warmest temperature of the year so far. Might have to turn on my AC for an hour this evening to keep my room cool for the first time since October.
