  1. Didn’t have as good of a westerly view where I was last night but was pretty nice!

  2. 62 and mostly sunny here. Lots of mature landscaping in this neighborhood. Some meticulously manicured and maintained, some not so much.

  3. Wedding went off without a hitch! And it didn't rain on us, it came through overnight! Looks like Springfield managed to pick up a half inch of rain but the airport only had 0.33 good lord what a disaster. And it looks like more warmer and drier than normal weather on the way...shocker.

  4. We finished laying rock in the new garden area... hopefully no weeds this year!

  7. I don’t eat beef, chicken, or turkey. Texture thing. Maybe Chris can change my mind next time I’m out there.

  8. My wife has been a life long vegetarian so she believes pretty strongly in it and wanted the kids to be the same...Though when they are old enough to decide on their own if they still want to be or not she will be fine with whatever they choose...At least that’s what she says now haha!

  9. Got my second vaccine dose yesterday. Body aches, nausea, and a fever. Not fun

  10. Surprised to see crabapple growing in your area, I would've thought it was too arid. It's great having those around to thoroughly pollinate any type of tree.

  12. The overnight low here at my house was a warm 63 and the official overnight low at GRR was a summer like 65. If it stays above 62 at the airport until midnight that 65 would set a new warmest minimum for May 2nd at Grand Rapids. There was just 0.01" of rain fall here yesterday and overnight as several periods of sprinkles came thru. At this time it is partly cloudy and 66 here and the last reading at GRR was 67.

  15. Don't get me wrong, I think it is totally awesome for them, but when I open my BBQ joint I guess you will have to visit by yourself, lol. Although, there would be a couple sides that could work for them!!

  16. I can respect that, but eating real hot dogs as a kid is a right of passage!!

  17. Thank god there there is no salmon with cheese this time. And, if you don't mind me asking, why are your kids vegetarian?

  18. Nice. One of my daughters was vegan for many years, shifted to vegetarian a couple years ago. So we are well acquainted with satisfying a variety of culinary needs around here. I have to say that kalbi marinated tofu grilled on the bbq is not bad. Not my first choice but you do things for your kids...

  20. 62/46 today. This spring has been pretty awesome for sunrise and sunset photos. Phone is loaded up with tons of new ones from this year. Has been a lot of sunny weather overall since early March.

  22. And this means what for us? Should we beware the MJO or something?

  23. It’s a private property...friends house right up above Ruston waterfront. Walk down to get photos there all the time.

  24. The clouds earlier this morning were very much welcomed. Now back to assault torrential UV rays.

  25. Partly cloudy... but probably cloudy at times. Clouds are bubbling up with the sun. I am out mowing a sopping wet lawn right now. Feels like May!

  26. Probably the most humid day of the season so far. Checked and we have a dew of 63 with a temp of 77. You can see when the moisture really surged back into the area last night after 10p.

  27. Trimmed at my relatives house this morning after church. Thought it felt humid. Just checked and dew is 59. Yesterday it was in the 30’s. Storms with potentially 1-2” of rain tonight then cloudy, windy and cool tomorrow.

  29. The highlight in the 10-day forecast is obviously the two days showing mid 50's Fri/Sat here That better come with some moist fronts and post frontal convectives.

  30. Around midnight I had stepped outside to find it actually drizzling here, although not enough to wet the ground.

  31. The 00Z ECMWF was much drier than the last few runs with that late week trough. 10-day precip total and anomalies...

  32. Yeah it was warm well into Mn. I got up to 85° while northern Iowa was a little warmer. Even Tx. was cooler under clouds. I didn’t like the windy conditions whipping the tender vegetation. Top gust here was 50 mph at 1:35pm.

  34. Nice! Jesse should be here soon to puke all over your pics. Wetter than normal water year... wetter than normal year to date... mountains have almost 150% of normal snowpack... and you take joy in the small things like a sunny day in western WA. If there was a way to puke on your photos 20 times I would!

  37. Huh....I'm the exact opposite, pretty much if it doesn't sh** in a field first I won't eat it. The only veggies I will eat are corn or potatoes. My mom could occasionally get a few green beans in me as a kid but only after they'd been cooked for hours in fatback. My wife was so grossed out when my mom made them on one of our trips back to Georgia. The only way I'll do fruit is in a smoothie. I don't do seafood either. It's a texture thing for me as well.

  38. Ahhh man sorry to hear that, usually weddings go off with a hitch(ing). Thank you everybody, I'll be here all week, try the veal! Seriously though, congrats and glad the weather cooperated!!

  39. Glad everything went well for you! Yeah, May doesn't look incredibly wet anywhere. That could change late month going into June hopefully.

  40. I think apple trees in general are pretty durable and can withstand extremes. These apples have been growing every year regardless if we have the coldest Dec since 1972 (2013) or a winter with almost 0" of snow (14-15). There was one pine tree we had to cut down in late 2017 but was already dying when we got the house. Lots of things can grow here.
