  1. Can't remember seeing this before... our maples that held their leaves way longer than usual decided this morning that it was time and are quickly dropping the remaining leaves on top of the snow.

  2. Some of the heaviest snow I’ve ever seen. 1/4” in 10 minutes.

  3. Heavy stuff falling outside Covington for a while. Probably up to 3” already.

  4. Well over an inch out there now. Probably at least 1.5" and still coming down good. I'm liking that encore performance the models are showing very late tonight.

  8. Here’s hoping! Kids school is already cancelled tomorrow so I’m all in on a snow day!!! we had a great party in the thick of it tonight in our wall tent… cocoa, snowball fights, and lots of laughs with the family.

  10. Looks like PDX will pull off their coldest November since 2000. They are 43.6F month to date, 2000 was 42.8F Also, assuming today doesn’t spike to 50 at some point, they should pull off an average high of 49.9 which is their first average November high below 50 since 2000 (they pulled off a 49.5 then) The record warm October followed by a modestly chilly November makes for an interesting month to month temp drop as well. The average high in Portland dropped 22 degrees between October and November this year. We went from an average high of 71.9 in October to 49.9 in November. Not sure if any other consecutive months in their history have seen the average high drop from the 70s to the 40s but I’d imagine it’s rare, if not unprecedented.

  11. Enumclaw is getting hammered now. Wouldn’t at all surprise me if they got 6” in the next 12 hours.

  12. Ended with about 3 inches overnight, but we're quickly warming up at 37° already. Had to hurry up and snap a picture of the backyard before it all disappears.

  13. Never did turn over here... back edge of precip approaching. Looks like about a foot here and still snowing.

  14. Posting about this in the twitter groupchat... What is offshore right now is convection enhanced by divergence aloft. That will stall and weaken gradually as it meanders onshore, if it even makes it to land. What the global models are so happy about tomorrow morning is a deformation band forming over the sound. That is a separate feature, as Jim has pointed out. That is the best chance for accumulating snowfall Seattle northward.

  16. You know what’s better than shining a flashlight into snowfall? Shining your high beams into the fattest snowflakes on a lonely county road. Was driving home from picking up pizza and once I hit a dark stretch of road by myself, I switched on the high beams and got greeted with the glorious white stuff of billions of flakes. Wish I had a dashcam that could snap pics, I loved it.

  18. Somehow the power stayed on here overnight. The trees look very sad. There's still 7.5" of wet snow on the patio table. Thankfully less on the giant driveway which I must clear before refreeze. It finally hit 32.0° at 2 am. Currently 32.5 / 32.0. It's shovel time!

  21. Spin is becoming more visible on radar, and more sheets of stratoform rain are forming. Could be the beginning of round 2 for the south sound in a couple hours, maybe some more to the north?

  24. After missing out yesterday, I was not prepared for this. Currently dumping snow, some of the largest flakes I’ve ever seen. Temp sitting at 37 according to my phone, but it’s already covering roads. Accumulations from the last 30-60 minutes, I’d say.

  25. 28 and moderate snow. probably have gotten 6" ish so far

  26. Well...I'd say last night delivered. 8" is the most fair measurement i could get thanks to all the snow banks. Likely a couple extra since I picked an area that may have lost some top to the wind.

  35. I’m outside enjoying the snow right now and I hear branches breaking like every 20 seconds on average. This has been insane for my area! I’m sorry to the people who didn’t get to witness this let alone any snow tonight.
