  3. It's the kind of crisp, clear weather where shaded areas (and due to the low sun angle there are lots of perpetually shaded areas) stay cold and frosty 24/7 and the frost builds night after night. Taken in Stanley Park this afternoon. The park, having a lot of marine influence due to being on the tip of a peninsula, got nowhere near as much snow as my neighbourhood did, but the last few days have really allowed a frost hollow to develop in the wetlands surrounding Beaver Lake.

  6. A friend of my fiancee was up near steel Bridge on the south slope of the Olympics to go play in the snow and the 2 big storms dropped about 44 inches of snow! This is 800ft elevation. Incredible! Lake cushman got 3 feet last week.

  7. Looks like PDX recorded a whopping 0.1” of snow today, which apparently is a daily record. We took a drive up Prune Hill this afternoon (700’) and there were a few inches on the ground, with temps near or just below freezing. So close to a widespread 1-2” in the metro area.

  13. Wow. Was not really expecting it to be this bad. Had a friend spin through an intersection on 23rd and Shaw halfway up to south hill, so my wife went to pick her up in our Pathfinder while I was out plugging up holes in our crawl space, and she spun through the same intersection! It’s now snow over a sheet of ice. Be careful out there. I’m walking to go get them and see if I can get the car back safely to our house. Almost an inch already. Roads were clear prior, but other surfaces still had a bit of accumulation that hadn’t melted.

  15. This means blocking in the sweet spot more likely than not for the indefinite future. This wintertime -ENSO atmospheric response is the strongest since 2016-17.

  21. Been lightly snowing for about an hour here in Richmond neighborhood. Starting to accumulate on grass. Long ways out from sticking to the roads but it's nice to see. Glad to see paltry euro precip totals have pretty much busted already. 3k GRAF has 1.8" here now starting from 10:30
