  1. I am closing out the GoFundMe for the forum as we just about hit our goal of $4000 (no idea why Zeno's never ending goal was enabled) and that is enough to cover server costs for the next year, cover the Skunk Bay advertising, and a GPU for our Graphcast development. Including some generous donations through Venmo and subtracting the GoFundMe processing fee, we hit $4460 dollars. Thank you again to everyone that pitched in to our one and only time fundraiser.

  2. Well I just got some terrible news this morning, my job and home of over 22 years will be ending as of October 15th 2025. The company I work for is closing the campground that I have been managing and living at as the property manager. not sure what to do now…. Feeling pretty defeated.

  6. We get it, man. It's probably not going to be a cripplingly historic event. All models still show at least some quick overrunning snow and ice potential midweek, which for this winter would be a solid win. Time to level set your expectations a bit rather than flooding the forum every 5 minutes with puke.

  9. 10.5” of snow this week in Bend. Current snow depth is around 6”. Shoveled the backyard snow into piles that stay in the shade all day.

  10. Oh boy… well Jim would fill you in but he said F the forum and quit earlier…At least for the day. Models are all over the place still for tonight, but Tim said not to worry, it will be in the upper 30’s and 40’s tomorrow and the quarter inch someone might see will melt into oblivion before anyone can even take a picture.

  11. I'll put this in words you might understand. Skibidi shut the fuck up for the night. Skibidi go back to Reddit if you can't hang with the "olds". Lastly, don't ever attach your taint scum of a generation as a reason why folks cant run at your level when you've got more in common with the 3 year old at Red Robin licking their iPad than the 33 year old reading from one.

  12. First time I've seen this much ice on Pipe Lake since moving to Maple Valley in summer on 2019. Ice is forming on the southern side of the lake which makes sense. I'm measuring the water temp about at about 1 foot of depth off the end of the dock at 39.5 degrees.

  13. Hard to tell if that is Montana or Redmond.

  14. Some clear periods overnight allowed temps to drop to 19.8F. Some nice views this morning driving my daughter to school

  18. Go have a drink. Play a hand of Blackjack. Go outside and enjoy your windstorm and anticipate your 65 degree pool day tomorrow. But for the love of all things Holy please do something.

  20. Took a stroll around the Hood. Ravensdale and Eastern Maple Valley still has a solid 1-2 inches on the ground. The eastern part of Ravensdale towards Palmer and Kanasket has a solid 4-5 inches of snow still with trees caked in snow.

  21. GIF of different models for tonight shows a pretty big range still. Some are basically completely snowless while others have a small band of up to 3" in various locations. A generally trace-half inch between Olympia and Everett with isolated spots getting up to 1.5" seems like a good call to me at this point.

  30. What a week! We still have snow on the ground. It's 37F and light rain at the moment. Haven't looked of what is ahead for next week. I'm really happy that this happened now than later in the month when I'll be out of town.

  31. Jim you are one of the more experienced people here. Do not let people get to you like that. Just ignore. Nothing wrong in being optimistic, I consider myself an optimistic person and we need people to spread positivity here. That being said, i hope it mani sno for u!!

  32. An entirely different level of annoying. I was somewhat hopeful that the 'I am out' comment yesterday was going to last more than 10 minutes, but it didn't. I really don't have a leg to stand on as my posts will never drive the bus, but goodness to scroll to and through the BS gets old. I understand the frustration. I have lived here all of my almost 60 times around the sun. I track, through the wonderful input on this forum, so many laughs and cries along the way. Most of them do not work out. I have seen metric tons of potential Pepto that rarely comes to fruition. How long? I remember you, KUVOflowman and Flatiron, talking about a 'hurricane looking' system back in the winter of 2008 and one of you said, 'WTF?' I think you called it a 'snowcane' I have really been audibly laughing at work this week with a lot of the comments. Defeatedegg- Dude, I get it! Realistic is absolutely reasonable. The reason why countless hours are spent on this forum, pouring over any possible chance? The magic that is cold and snow in the PNW. There isn't one person of the 128 on line right now that doesn't want epic. It may or may not happen. Not looking likely, but man, I would not consider one model to be accurate right now. The infallible EPS that has showed us, yes, you and I live in the metro Portland area, we should be in the 20's right now with a foot of snow on the ground and the next two weeks more of the same.

  38. In my honest opinion (not that it matters), Tim has been helpful and objective with his posts overall. Others seem to be getting frustrated with him, but it’s no mystery that the model trends haven’t been the best. We’ll see what happens, but overall quite disappointed in regards to snow potential for MBY
