Qatar enjoyed a really rainy week. One of the best weeks I ever had here literally. Heavy storms and rain affected different parts of the country from Monday to Thursday, and some stations already exceeded their annual averages. Al-Wakra station had 50.0, 37.5, 3.9 and 18.1 mm respectively from Monday to Thursday, and it is by no means the only station, though the airport station failed to exceed the annual average as it was a bit too east for storms to maintain their power. Thanks man still alive. I be D**n*d if i die in the swamp and never experience a 12in snow storm. Might get a multi generational property out in maple valley or something since i would need a caretaker for a couple of months and help with the business and kids. ain’t going to stress about the future tonight, that’s why we got tomorrow.

It really was a sort of perfect storm scenario. Everything came together just right and the Seattle area really made something out of nothing, somewhat like January 2017 in Portland metro or April 2022 in Clark County. January 2017 wasn't only a perfect storm with snow, it was a perfect storm with cold too. It's hard to overstate how insane Hillsboro's 3F reading was - that is their coldest reading since December 1972. Dead gradients, clear skies, and a foot of snowcover really squeezed every last drop of cold out of a pretty pedestrian upper level airmass.

Also on/around this date, had a fairly significant 2 day severe weather outbreak on March 26-27, 1991. Day 1 focused in the Plains and day 2 focused around the Lakes, with some strong tornadoes pretty far north for this time of year.

I stopped following the weather last week and I put a couple trees I had inside that had already leafed. That was a mistake, I fried my fig tree a couple nights ago. This has been one of the frostiest weeks all winter, I won’t make that mistake again, nothing outside until mid April.

Yesterday, was the 1st day in over a week (8 Days to be exact) that Sky Harbor did NOT reach the Century Mark...topped out at 99F...yes, that means the record streak of 100F days and record setting or tying days is over. Today, however, we will prob reach 100F+ for one more day and then comes the relief.

A strong cold front came through yesterday afternoon that brought moderate rain with it and dropped the temperatures from the mid 60’s down to the 40’s in a couple of hours. Here in MBY I recorded 0.45” of rain yesterday and the overnight low here is the current temperature of 29 with cloudy skies. The next 7 days look to have a continuation of the up and down temperatures with highs from the low 40’s to near 70 and lows from the mid 20’s to the upper 40’s and there are chances of showers and maybe even a snow shower later today. Considering the flow will be northerly by Sunday night, that CZ will not linger up in Snohomish or Skagit like it usually does. It would be more inclined to hang around I-90 and maybe even drop south at some point. Will be interesting to track as we get closer I guess.

But maybe it will snow next season…Or at least when the Sonics return!

First late afternoon IPA on the deck... beautiful out here. I know pretty much everywhere else in the country has had numerous sunny days much warmer than this to enjoy. But nice to get just one.

Another hot record breaking day. Could see a storm tonight fingers crossed. The temperature at Kansas City has reached 93 degrees tying the record for the warmest March day (for any date) in KC history (going back to 1888). This ties the record set way back on...checks notes...Saturday (3/21). this also breaks the daily record of 85 set in 1991. #RecordBreakingKC
