  1. Mainly because these volatile situations do not normally pan out very well... Let's hope this one brings the good in a epic way. Let's see if the EURO jumps onto the arctic outbreak bandwagon!
  2. I have to admit, even though I will not be getting much snow over here in Spokane, I can not even remember if I have ever seen or experienced 850's that cold. I love my move to Spokane for that reason. No more worries about getting snow as I know it will snow here pretty much every winter. This has been about the most snowless winter they have had in a while here, and it has been fantastic to me. Heck, it snowed like 5 inches on Christmas day! I do hope everyone on the westside can get some severe cold and maybe stir up some moisture to boot. Watching and hoping!!
  3. I am looking forward to some chilly highs next week here in Spokane. IN OTHER NEWS - My wife and I just bought 3.5 acres up towards Colville WA. This will be the view from backyard in about a year from now. I assume next year there will be more snow as this has been a horrible year for snow in this area. Pictures taken about 5 days ago. Also, I have attached an image of the home we will be building -- Plans are drawn builder is pricing things out for us.
  4. Looking decent for us over here in Spokane! YES, I am so loving it here!!!
  5. Yep, but still had many more snow days than I would normally see in Western Wa in 5 years. So I will take it.
  6. What is the latest discussion on the Polar Vortex split? I am sure I am late to the party, just curious if this still look viable?
  7. Talking to the local here this has been one of the warmest winters in many years here. Our snowfall for January was minor overall and melted quickly (in a day in most cases) here in the Valley. I really enjoyed it, but afternoon temps have been pretty warm. My good buddy who has lived here for 15 years says this is not normal to have zero snow on the ground this time of year and temps consistently in the upper 40's... I am honestly okay with it, love the snow we have gotten, and winter is not over, yet.
  8. We are smack dab in the middle of the valley close to the mall. There has been one freezing fog event that really impacted just north of us, up in the green bluff area (about 15min from where I am). We drove up there to visit a farm, and everything was shimmering white as it was coated. It was one of the most beautiful things I have experienced. Rolling farm land with surrounded by mountains in a coating of frozen white. It was spectacular, it looked like a picture out of a December Calendar. I will do better to snap some pictures and share in the future. I just do not want to be one of those that is like "Neener, neener, look at all the snow I get" lol! So, I want to be careful and not come across as gloating. That being said, I am loving it here, and the panic of getting or NOT getting snow is gone. As it is a more regular thing here. YES!!!
  9. Hey everyone! I have been loving the life here in Spokane WA. So glad to leave western WA (the swamp) behind. Had numerous snow since living here. Recent storm brought about 5 to 6 inches here in Spokane Valley. I will share more as winter progresses. Been very absent this year, since our move.
  10. Finally, it is official! We will be moving to Post Falls, ID in June into an apartment, then we should have our custom home completed late next spring in the Sandpoint area (shown below) - Sandpoint will be our final home. So excited to get into a climate with truly 4 beautiful and distinct seasons! I am soooo excited!!!! If everything works out like we have planned, we will have our house built close to the golf community shown in this video:
  11. Basically calm here... could not even fly a kite here it is so calm.
  12. This is exactly how it will play out. Perfectly forecasted.
  13. FOR me.. It looks to be marginal at best, with highs will be in the upper 30’s to low 40’s. So it will melt faster than it accumates for most, AND most look to get nothing. Not much here to be excited about other than a big ol tease and an overall marginal / non-event for a good majority here. So Meh!
  14. We are looking in that area. The key is finding level property, Good internet (for work) and a price we can afford. But that area is definitely a place we’re looking.
  15. Not yet, going to sell our house in April or May, move over and live in an apartment while we look for property and eventually have a house built. Looks to be a huge change for us but an exciting adventure too!
  16. Another swamp screw hole special coming up. Next year at this time I will be in northern ID and so honestly I should not care.
  17. Yep... overall It was never in the believable range it was more an inflated belief/hope it was going to happen. That is often what we read on here, rather than a more balanced approach. I am not going to offer a balanced approach either, because I tend to have more of skeptical approach until it is within three to five days and we have model consistency. I bought in to soon on the last event and I should know better.
